Brain Breaks | Crossover | Brain Breaks Song | Cross the Mid-line | Jack Hartmann

03:45
Crossover is a fun BRAIN BREAKS song that is all about cross lateral movements which are movements that cross the mid-line of the brain. The mid-line is an imaginary line that runs down the middle of the body from head to toes, dividing the body into right and left halves. When children do cross - lateral movements the two sides of the brain are forced to communicate and strengthen the brain pathways. Brain Breaks should be fun and movement oriented. My brain breaks song Crossover, also gets children to immediately use their brain to concentrate and use different parts of their body to cross the mid-line. Crossover tells children exactly what part of the body they're to crossover from right to left and left to right so it's very easy for children of all ages to do in the regular classroom and at PE. Crossing the midline is necessary for reading and writing as we go left to right. When we engage children in crossover movements blood flow is increased in all parts of the brain making it more alert and energized for optimal learning. Use this song as a great musical brain breaks activity for stimulating the brain and body. Jump Out Words are sight words that show up in reading material with high frequency. Words like "and", "but", "me", "you", and more. This cool Latin beat song on sight words can really help children to learn, memorize and spell many of these high frequency words. When children know them by sight, it helps them read with more fluency and ease. Sight words should be words that children don't need to sound out with phonics, they just know the words and continue reading. I thought of the phrase jump out words because when children see them they just jump out in their mind that they know this high frequency word. Blends Song | Letter Blends | Consonant Blends | Two Letters that Work Together | Jack Hartmann

03:33
Two Letters That Work Together: http://youtu.be/RCCFqWV8S7E This video and song demonstrates how two consonant letters work together to form an initial consonant blend. I say each consonant letter sound and then blend them together to form the initial consonant blend. As I make the consonant blend I say each letter sound clearly and distinctly. The initial blend is then shown with a word and a simple realistic image to further enhance visual learning. Use this song over and over again to help your children strengthen their phonological awareness and fluency skills. Check out my CD, Hip Hop Alpha Bop Volume 2 for this song and another open-ended version for teachers to substitute other blends. Subitize Country Style | Subitizing up to 10 | Math Song for Kids Jack Hartmann

Subitize to 10. Subitize is the ability to tell the number of objects in a set, quickly, without counting. In this subitizing song name the numbers in each set of objects, ten frames, five frames and tally marks. Subitizing develops math fluency, when students recognize sets without having to count each object and it helps develop number sense and the ability to perform mental math. In this version we subitize up to 10 and then give the answer for reinforcement. Have fun subitizing with this subitize song. Learn Syllables | Syllable Song for Kids | Clap, Stomp and Chomp | Jack Hartmann

03:40
This syllable song helps children hear the syllables in 1, 2 and 3 syllable words and helps them develop their phonological awareness skills. The syllable song is clear and catchy and it engages children with not only visuals of the words, but also fun movements (clapping, stomping and chomping with their arms.) This syllable song is perfect for kinesthetic (visual) learners. They participate with singing (auditory) seeing the words (visual) and doing the movements, clap, stomp and chomp to each syllable (kinesthetic.) Your children can also participate by counting out loud the number of syllables in each word that is presented as they are clapping, stomping and chomping. Counting the syllables can easily be included in this activity. Syllabication is an important skill in developing phonological awareness which is essential to helping our children become successful readers. Your children will have fun clapping, stomping and chomping as they get great practice hearing the syllables in words. This song engages active participation while building brain and body connections. Count by 10's Count by 10 | Count to 100 | Counting Songs | Jack Hartmann

04:15
Skip Counting Forward and Back is an educational song that focuses on skip counting by 10’s to 100 and then skip counting down from 100 to 0. The upbeat fun Caribbean rhythm makes it easy to also incorporate movements as you count. This is a wonderful brain and body connection for learning and moving. Also, the movements break up the song and video into counting forward segments and counting backward segments. This song counts forward and counts backwards. This great children’s song has the children skip count multiple times, so they really get the opportunity to skip count and move again and again. The repetition aids in the learning and the fun. Children count out loud forward and back as they follow along and move together in the classroom. Children will see the numbers large on screen to reinforce their number recognition. Just follow Jack to learn to skip count forward and back! You can find this math song and other educational songs on my album, ExerSongs. Teen Numbers | Numbers in the Teens | Teen Numbers Rap | Jack Hartmann

02:44
The Teen Numbers Rap has a fun rap beat and teaches kids how to say and write the teen numbers. Your children will clearly be able to see all of the teen numbers. I designed this song about the numbers in the teens because teachers tell me that these are often the most difficult for children to learn to write as the second digit is said first. I break down the numbers in the teens so kids can hear how they say the number while seeing how it's written. Also, the Teen Numbers Rap lets children know the teen numbers are between the numbers 10 and 20 (11 through 19). If your children like cool Hip-Hop and rap beats, they will love our Teen Numbers Rap song. This song can really help children better understand the teen numbers and clear up some of the confusion about the teen numbers We hope they sing along, enjoy and learn! Letters of the Alphabet | Capital Letters | Uppercase Letters | Alphabet Workout | Jack Hartmann

Alphabet Workout strengthens alphabet recognition, letter formation skills and fitness of your class. My Alphabet Workout song - Upper Case follows the Zaner - Bloser instructions for writing the upper case letters to develop the exercise movements and verbal letter formation directions. This song incorporates visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning. Gross motor movements are used to form the letters to enhance physical activity. Children follow my movements as I form the upper case letters of the alphabet. The more we engage our children in movement, the more we really are strengthening their health and well-being. I made the letters as large as possible so your children can clearly see and watch me form the letters. Play this song every day to help your children get great practice forming the letters and making body and brain connections. Count to 10 | Counting to 10 | Count to 10 With Our Friends | Brain Breaks | Jack Hartmann

02:49
This is a count to 10 and brain breaks song all in one. Children sing and count to 10 with me in auditory pattern, and then sing and count to 10 five times, but as five different fun characters. They pretend with me to be a soldier, an opera singer, a monster, a cowboy/ cowgirl and a baby. I try to make this count to 10 song even more fun in this video by dressing up as all five different characters. Children follow me pretending to be the characters and count to 10 as they use their own creativity to move and act like the characters too. They visually see all the numbers 1 to 10 as we all sing together so this helps your children identify and remember the numerical symbols for counting 1 to 10. When I sing this song "live" in concert all the children simply love it! All the smiles and laughter from teachers and parents show they love it too. This count to 10 song will soon be a favorite to do during brain breaks or as part of your regular basic math curriculum on counting and numbers. I always love performing it too. I wrote it in 2010, but still love singing it to children just as much today. Word Family -at | Phonics Song for Kids | Jack Hartmann

03:34
Learn about the at word family. Word families are groups of words that have a common pattern. Word families, sometimes called phonograms or chunks, can help emergent readers by providing predictable patterns within words. Sing along with this at word family song. The first time through we give the beginning sound and the at word family ending sound. The second time through we give a chance for independent practice of the at word family. When learning to read, patterns are important. Children recognize word patterns and this makes it easier to sound out words. Sing and move with Jack as he introduces the at word family. These are words that all end with an and have different beginning sounds or blends. Lyrics Let's learn lots of words in the at family When you learn them they can help you write and read Each one is different as they begin But they all have at at the end Look and listen and say the word c at cat b at bat s at sat m at mat h at hat Let's learn lots of words in the at family When you learn them they can help you write and read f at fat r at rat fl at flat sc at scat ch at chat We learned lots of words in the at family When you learn them they can help you write and read Now you read the words and say them out loud cat bat sat mat hat fat rat flat scat chat We learned lots of words in the at family When you learn them they can help you write and read It's fun learning words in the at family Jack Hartmann's website: www.jackhartmann.com Remember to connect with Jack Hartmann on his Social Networks: Facebook: www.facebook.com/hop2itmusic Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/jackhartmann YouTube: www.youtube.com/user/JackHartmann Twitter: twitter.com/Jack_Hartmann Google +: plus.google.com/u/0/111246828015196865180 You can find Jack Hartmann's Music on: Jack Hartmann Website: www.jackhartmann.com iTunes: itunes.apple.com/us/artist/jack-hartmann/id391057562 Amazon Mp3: amazon.com/Boom-Chicka/dp/artist-redirect/B0156RBPXW/ref=sr_1_1?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&qid=1492528781&sr=1-1&keywords=Jack+Hartmann Google Play: play.google.com/store/music/artist/Jack_Hartmann?id=Ax3xg7dhdt5nx4b47dnwxjnhhhy&hl=en CD Baby: www.cdbaby.com/Artist/JackHartmann

Count by 2 | Dancing 2's | Skip Counting by 2 | Count to 100 | Educational Songs | Jack Hartmann

03:14
Dancing 2's is a fun way for kids to learn to skip count by 2. Children follow me doing different dances as we count to 100 by 2. Every time we hit a place holder of tens we change dances. Children sing-a-long with me as we dance to this fun skip counting song. Children easily learn the rhythm and melody which helps them remember how to count to 100 by 2's. The combination of brain and body connections in this song really make it a winner to use over and over again to get kids exercising, get the wiggles out and memorize how to count to 100 by 2's. Beginning Sounds | Beginning Sounds Song | Word Play | Jack Hartmann

03:03
This Beginning Sounds Song really makes developing phonological awareness fun and is great exercise too. In this educational song, your children follow my movements, say the action word and then say the beginning sound of each word. I say the word and the beginning sound four times so children can really hear the word and its beginning sound. The song is designed so by saying the action word and beginning sound several times, children have adequate time to freely do the movements. Phonemic awareness is the ability to perceive individual sounds in spoken language. It is this awareness that makes learning to read with phonics fun and easy. An essential part of learning to read is hearing the beginning sounds in words. This skill is essential to meeting the Common Core and national standards in language arts. I wrote the song with all the action words so children can really be active as they learn and have fun moving together. This is a great song for having fun with words. The children are also listening and repeating while developing awareness for beginning sounds. Many teachers refer to this skill as beginning sounds, initial sounds or isolating sounds, and it’s an extremely important skill to help your children become successful readers. Your children will have lots of fun moving and singing and not even know they’re developing phonological awareness skills. You say what I say right after me You move like I move just follow me Let's have lot's of fun, play this way Play with words, I call it word play Repeat after me and move March, march /m/ /m/ march /m/ /m/ march Wiggle, wiggle /w/ /w/ wiggle /w/ /w/ wiggle Turn, turn /t/ /t/ turn /t/ /t/ turn Jump, jump /j/ /j/ jump /j/ /j/ jump Bop, bop /b/ /b/ bop /b/ /b/ bop Disco, disco /d/ /d/ disco /d/ /d/ disco Play with words, I call it word play Jack Hartmann's website: http://www.jackhartmann.com Remember to connect with Jack Hartmann on his Social Networks: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hop2itmusic Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jackhartmann/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/JackHartmann Twitter: https://twitter.com/Jack_Hartmann Google +: https://plus.google.com/u/0/111246828015196865180/posts You can read more from Jack Hartmann on his Blogs: Physical Education Lesson Plans: https://physicaleducationteachers.wordpress.com/ Blogger: http://jackhartmann.blogspot.com/ You can find Jack Hartmann's Music on: Jack Hartmann Website: http://www.jackhartmann.com iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/jack-hartmann/id391057562 Amazon Mp3: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_srch_drd_B00423GXF2?ie=UTF8&field-keywords=Jack%20Hartmann&index=digital-music&search-type=ss Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/music/artist/Jack_Hartmann?id=Ax3xg7dhdt5nx4b47dnwxjnhhhy&hl=en CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/JackHartmann Please sign-up for our monthly newsletter about Jack’s new products, concerts and teacher workshops. 3D Shapes Song for Kids | Learn about 3D shapes | Jack Hartmann

03:35
Five of the most common 3D shapes are the sphere, cylinder, pyramid, cube and cone. These 3D shapes are clearly shown, with examples of real-life 3D shapes. My 3D SHAPES song is very sing-able and memorable for all children. Kids will be able to sing the five common 3D shapes after listening to this song and always remember them. The vividly clear visual images for each 3D shape will help them to identify 3D shapes in their environment. Kids will get to see four beautiful real-life photos for each of the five 3D shapes. The 3D shapes I show are shapes they see every day and everywhere. Use this song to strengthen and enhance your math curriculum and your teaching of 3D shapes. *A 3D shape is a geometric figure that has three (3) dimensions; height, width and depth. *3D shapes differ from 2D shapes because they have thickness. *They are often thought of as solids, but can also be hollow like an empty box. *3D shapes are classified by the number and size of their faces, the number of their vertices, and by the number and size of their edges. *Faces - these are the flat parts of the 3D shape. *Edges - these are the sides of the faces, where the two faces meet. *Vertices - these are the corners or points of the shape. I hope teachers, parents and children will sing this 3D shapes song and use this video regularly to help develop awareness and knowledge about the geometry of 3D shapes and all the 3D shapes around us. It's fun to make 2 words 1 Version 2 | Compounds Words | Compound Words Song | Jack Hartmann

02:20
Have fun learning about how to make compound words. A compound word is made when two words are joined to form a new word. I show and say the first word and then show and say the second word. We put both words together to form a new compound word in this compound words song. This is great practice for Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes who are beginning to build the foundational language skills that today’s elementary school curriculum requires. Young children will develop their phonological awareness and phonics skills with this compound word song as they hear and see how two words make a new word. Your children will be engaged by holding up one hand at a time for each word and then clap hands together when we form the new word. This compound word song also helps children develop a good listening ear for the skill of hearing syllables in words. It’s Fun to Make Two Words One is a simple, easy way to help make language development enjoyable for young children. It’s a great tool to start strengthening phonological awareness and phonics skills. It’s fun to put words together and create a compound word with a whole new meaning.
