Angie the Anti-Theist reading Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life" (which is missing a hyphen, you crappy ass author!) and hating every minute of it. Come join the misery and mockery! Stories mentioned in this video: Harrison Johnson's story can be read on http://whatstheharm.net/children.html or on my blog at http://bit.ly/7X5Moy I also mentioned my grandmother, Carol Balizet. You can read about her cult at Apologetics Index (a Christian anti-cult site. I know, I know, the irony.) http://www.apologeticsindex.org/b17.html

I get asked pretty often, "Why do you talk about religion all the time? You don't believe in any of it." And it's true I don't believe it, but other people do - and that's both weird and worrisome. Growing up in a cult, I saw the child neglect inherent in fundamentalism. Today I say faith is not a virtue; faith is a vice.

Angie the Anti-Theist explaining why I think Rick Warren is a Calvinist. Quick note: I was never a Calvinist myself and my studies of the theology are superficial. If I've stated one of the TULIP principles incorrectly, or have somehow misrepresented standard Calvinistic beliefs, please let me know. Rick Warren's stance on the key point of predestination should be obvious, however, even if I have gotten details of Calvinism wrong, to anyone who has read his book, "The Purpose Driven Life" or seen my PDL video series.

Angie the Anti-Theist on Day 3 of Rick Warren's 40 day "spiritual journey" to find out what he claims god's purpose is for my life. I'm kind of surprised this sold so well, considering what tripe it is. And how the hell do you get a book published with a freaking grammatical error in the TITLE? "Purpose-driven" not "purpose driven". Oh that's right - you get published by freaking ZONDERVAN, who at one point in time published my nutso cult-leading grandma Carol Balizet. That's the kind of publisher who puts out grammar errors in the fucking title. Yes, I have OCD.

Angie the Anti-Theist responding to AWorldExposure's anti-abortion video. In his video he lists (and exaggerates by implication) the "side effects" (ie, intended purpose) of RU486. I did not address in this video his comments regarding "passing the fetus". In my case, what I passed was an embryo (egg) that hadn't yet reached gestational age to become a fetus. In other words, the outcome was visibly identical to every period I've ever had. There was no "baby" on the pad at any point in time, people. Vaccines don't cause autism. They just don't. There was once a single, solitary study that stated a link (and remember kiddies, correlation ain't causation) between the MMR vaccine and children. The sample size for the study was a measly 12 children. Andrew Wakefield, the study's author, has lost his license to practice medicine and may face criminal charges for intentionally, fradulently manipulating the data as he did. There is NO scientific evidence suggesting vaccines cause autism. Autism appears to be a neurological condition with several genetic factors. You can get a quick review of how this faulty link came to be believed in this Salon.com article http://www.salon.com/life/feature/2011/01/16/seth_mnookin_panic_virus_autism/index.html Love your child, whether they are neurotypical or not.

Angie the Anti-Theist ranting on Rick Warren, Saddleback, and an interpretation of Scripture that leads to Christian women staying in abusive marriages. Anti-Gay: http://bit.ly/aPx9UV Anti-Condom: http://bit.ly/baVv2B Anti-Woman: http://bit.ly/d4nXhu (By Kathryn Joyce - buy her book. If you like my videos, you'll probably love it.) From Joyce's article, the statistic I mentioned in full context: "Nancy Nason-Clark, a sociologist at the University of New Brunswick who studies religion and violence, says that while domestic violence rates are consistent in and out of church, Christian women stay much longer, and in much more violent situations, than do non-Christians. When a religious woman is victimized by her partner, shes in some ways more vulnerable—not to the abuse, but to feeling that she should stick it out, and stick to the church for help. Shes more likely to blame herself, to think that if shes better, the suffering will end.
