In order to have your abs to show, you need to reduce your body fat (have a decent diet that facilitates your body fat reduction) and perform cardio the 1st thing in the morning. Now that you have the body fat reduced, you need to develop the abs and create separations. Here's how... Alpha's Go To Ab Routine Basic bench crunch - after getting into position, keep legs slightly bent, come up and pause. Alpha gives alternates for less and more intense options. 15 reps with dumbbell then 15 reps without the weight. Do three (3) sets of 30 reps. Hanging Leg Raises - Alpha gives options to perform this exercise with pros and cons. It's about control, that little squeeze, and that little pause. He gives options to make the exercises less and more challenging. He also gives an option to hit the obliques. Go for three (3) sets. Cable Crunch - it's a personal favorite of Alpha but is more difficult to feel. Your butt doesn't move. Only the upper body moves with a pause. Go for 15 - 20, three (3) sets. The Ball Crunch - not the most masculine looking but one of the most effective. Chin to ceiling with the ball in the small of your back, go up, pause, and down. If you quiver, all of your muscles are engaged. You don't need to go super fast. Go 10 slow with a pause. Then go for 10 pulses. It's a great way to finish off those abs! String of two of these together for a superset. Alternate back and forth for 3 sets. Perform twice a week with a few days in between. If you squeeze, go slow, and contract, you'll feel it for days. Despite the fact that I spend a good chunk of my time in the gym when preparing for photo shoots, I can't live in the weight room 24/7. Just like you, I have other things to do, people to see, and a social life to fully enjoy. That's why I'm sharing this time-saving, highly effective ab circuit. You'll likely be done in 15-20 minutes, but it'll give you the sensation of a killer workout when you finish! In fact, this training session is so effective that I often begin my daily workout with it, or some similar variation. The circuit consists of only four exercises, but before you begin, I recommend you gather all of the equipment you'll need—such as a stability ball and ab roller—so you're ready to hit each movement in quick succession, without rest. Ready to give your abs the greatest pump of your life? Let's grow! HANGING LEG RAISE This is a tough lower-ab exercise. You'll feel what I mean soon! Find a bar to hang from, and while keeping your upper body stable, bring your legs up so they end up above parallel to the ground. Since you'll be hanging, all of your core stabilizer muscles will fire to keep you from swaying too much. Keep your elbows unlocked and engage your core to also keep yourself steady. You can either do this with your legs extended or knees bent, but the former adds a greater challenge. If you want to ramp up the difficulty even further, you can hold a dumbbell between your feet as you perform each rep. I even do them to the sides to target the obliques as well. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest. Before the industrial revolution, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. Fitness is defined as the quality or state of being fit. Around 1950, perhaps consistent with the Industrial Revolution and the treatise of World War II, the term "fitness" increased in western vernacular by a factor of ten. Modern definition of fitness describe either a person or machine's ability to perform a specific function or a holistic definition of human adaptability to cope with various situations. This has led to an interrelation of human fitness and attractiveness which has mobilized global fitness and fitness equipment industries. Regarding specific function, fitness is attributed to person who possess significant aerobic or anaerobic ability, i.e. strength or endurance. A holistic definition of fitness is described by Greg Glassman in the CrossFit journal as an increased work capacity across broad times and modal domains; mastery of several attributes of fitness including strength, endurance, power, speed, balance and coordination and being able to improve the amount of work done in a given time with any of these domains. A well rounded fitness program will improve a person in all aspects of fitness, rather than one, such as only cardio/respiratory endurance or only weight training. A comprehensive fitness program tailored to an individual typically focuses on one or more specific skills, and on age- or health-related needs such as bone health. Many sources also cite mental, social and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three points, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Physical fitness can also prevent or treat many chronic health conditions brought on by unhealthy lifestyle or aging. Working out can also help some people sleep better and possibly alleviate some mood disorders in certain individuals. Developing research has demonstrated that many of the benefits of exercise are mediated through the role of skeletal muscle as an endocrine organ. That is, contracting muscles release multiple substances known as myokines which promote the growth of new tissue, tissue repair, and various anti-inflammatory functions, which in turn reduce the risk of developing various inflammatory diseases. The 10 BEST Exercises to get 6 Pack Abs at home. Although you can't lose belly fat with crunches you can work the abdominal muscles and build up your abs. This video provides the best ab workout for men that want to work on getting v cut abs with no equipment, or gym. I started training my abs when I was 14 years old and since then I've used the same exercises and techniques that I'm going to go over with you today to build them up to where they are now. And over the years the two biggest mistakes that I've seen people make were either not dieting correctly, or not training their abs correctly. Most people just assume it's all about diet, but the truth is that not only will you have to make sure that you're diet's on point, but you'll also have to build up the ab muscles themselves. I've seen too many people attempt to get really lean thinking that they'll look like hugh jackman or some other fit celebrity after they're done dieting. But they quickly learn that as important as diet is, it's just half of the equation, the other half is about building muscle. I'm going to help you with that today without any gym equipment required. The training style that I recommend for this type of workout is short intervals. 20 seconds on and then ten seconds off before moving on to the next exercise. Even though that might sound simple by working on these 10 effective exercises, you'll get more visible muscular abs and you'll be able to constantly see results just by progressively training them harder over time, Let's start with the very first exercise which is by far my favorite, "Navy seal situps." If you've ever done bicycle situps you'll notice some similarities, but this is a much more effective exercise that you'll feel working right away. You'll want to start by lying flat on your back with your legs straight, and feet together slightly above the ground. Next you want to sit up and bring one elbow to the opposite knee. Then return back to the starting position with your feet slightly above the ground, before switching sides and bringing your other elbow to your other knee. Then repeat for reps until your 20 seconds are up. After the 20 seconds take a 10 second break while switching to the next exercise. It's important to keep in mind that when performing this exercise you want to bring your shoulder blades up off the ground and sit your upper body up, not just twists your upper body side to side as you bring your knee in. Also remember that all of these exercises can be adjusted for the level that you're at right now. With navy seal situps you can make it harder over time by holding weights in your hands while performing the exercise the same way. You can also make it easier by regressing to bicycle situps. With bicycle situps you would have both knees bent and both feet on the ground. With each rep you would only bring one foot up off the ground and return to the starting position before doing the next rep. This makes it a much more manageable exercise for beginners until they're ready to progress to navy seal situps. The next exercise is the dying beetle. Here you would bend your knees and raise your feet off the ground until your knee caps are pointed straight up towards the ceiling. Then you would put your hands behind your head as if you're about to do crunches. Now the goal is to rock back and forth like a seesaw and rotate your body each time that you rock. You would do this by lifting your shoulder blades off the ground for what looks like a crunch, then as you bring your shoulder blades back down, you bring your knees into your chest, bring your hips off the ground and rotate your body. Now I know this exercise might look ridiculous, but trust me it's a lot harder than it looks. In fact if this is too difficult for you then you can bend your knees plant your feet on the ground and reach for your heels side to side. Just remember to try to keep your abs tight and your shoulder blades off the ground while doing this. If the regular dying beetle is too easy you can take a dumbbell or a gallon of water and hold it either against your chest or behind your head while performing the exercise. Moving on we have our 3rd exercise which is going to be an Isometric V-hold. Here we would start by lying flat on ground with your legs straight out and your arms straight above your head. Next you would lift your shoulder blades and legs off the ground until it looks like you just completed a v situp. Except instead of lowering back down you would just try to hold that position...

This is my current lower abs workout routine in the gym. Most of my ab videos are at home workouts, but I do enjoy going to the gym and using other equipment for a change. The traditional simple exercises are always the best, but you need to switch up your programs. This workout is focusing on the six pack but emphasizing on your lower abs. Here I will break down for you everything you need to know about getting a six pack fast and how to construct your ab workouts in order to waste no time in doing so. It starts with the anatomy of the abdominal muscles and realizing that a complete core is not just the abs. You need to hit a few other key muscles if you want to get your core to look the best it can. Before getting into the anatomy of the core muscles however you always need to first question the quality of your nutrition. There is nothing that is going to give you a six pack unless your body fat is low enough to show what you have worked for. Not even hours of cardio are likely helpful enough to getting you to a body fat goal low enough to reveal a shredded core. Your nutrition is and always will be paramount to getting a low body fat that is capable of showing visible abs in any light. That said, back to the muscles that make up the complete step by step ab picture. You want to focus not only on the obvious rectus abdominus muscle but also realize that there are two main ways to hit it. You can influence the lower abdominal fibers more with bottom up movements that initiate the movement of the spine with the pelvis being moved towards the head. Vice versa, you can hit the upper fibers a bit more effectively when the shoulders are moved towards the pelvis. Either way, exercise selection is going to matter here as well as the method in which you are performing the exercises and the equipment you use (or forget to) that will take you to another level in ab development. On that end, many people forget that the ab muscles have a contribution of type II muscle fibers as well. This means that they respond well to explosive training and can hypertrophy with the right weighted exercises. Many people shy away from these thinking that it is going to give them a bulky midsection but that is not the case. Instead, it is going to help you to get blockier abs that stand out more than those that never include this type of training. Performing your reps explosively like Steelers All Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown is doing in this video is another key to getting abs that stand at attention in any light. Next you need to be sure you are focusing on including exercises for your obliques and serratus. These muscles run on a diagonal angle which suggests their high importance in the rotational ab exercises that you should be doing. Many options for hitting these muscles are included in this video but just be sure you are doing some of them since you can’t overlook these when it comes to the overall picture of getting a ripped midsection. The transverse abdominus is also an area that you want to focus your efforts on if you want to keep a flat belly and good muscle control of your lower abs. It is easier to activate if you understand the concept of proper breathing with your ab exercises. You want to be sure that you are exhaling or breathing out but cinching your stomach muscles down (not pushing them out) if you want to develop these muscles properly without causing your ab muscles to protrude or bloat. All of these things are important when it comes to getting ripped abs, you just have to have a game plan for doing it. Im so excited to finally post the beginner workout for all my beginner subscribers. All the workouts are simple and easy, and it was the routine i would do when i was a beginner. I start off by doing a little circuit of lunges, burpees , and core exercises. Next i do reverse lunge with weight on the side. I move to curtsi lunges, and then a dead lift with any kind of weight. After that I squat with the smith machine, and move on to a hamstring curl. lastly I do more lunges on a bench and more dumbbell dead lifts with squats, and finish off with a stability ball hamstring curl.

You might feel it in your lower back or your shoulder but you find yourself thinking did I do something wrong or does this exercise just suck. Well it really isn't always you. There are a lot of exercises out there that are plain bad for you & they only continue to exist just because they've been passed down from one misinformed gym to the next, & noones been smart enough to realize that these common exercises are no good. So today we're going over 10 exercises that all men should avoid & these exercises aren't only exclusive to men. Women should avoid these exercises as well it's just that in this video we'll be sticking to exercises that i usually find men doing wrong. The very first one that I want to start with is actually a group of exercises that guys are drawn to like moths to a flame. I'm talking about all the selectorizor ab machines at your local gym. The machines that you usually start by sitting down pulling out the pin, selecting your weight, then grabing some handles behind your head & doing crunches. These machines are not only a waste of time but they are also dangerous for your lower back. All these selectorizor ab machines are locked into a range of motion, meaning that your joints & your disks can't travel down their natural path, you can only travel down the path that the machine has set for you. Even if you adjust the machine to your body perfectly, which by the way is very hard to do, but even if you somehow had a machine customized for your body you can still easily run into lower back issues because you're still locked in a set range of motion throughout the entire exercise. Besides a greater potential for a lower back injury you will also get significantly less results from these machines than if you stuck to regular ab exercises like crunches, hanging knee tucks, & declined situps. The reason is once again due to the fact that your locked into a range of motion. The core's main responsibility is stabilization. And it's important to improve your functional core strength because your core isn't only responsible for stabilizing your trunk but it stabilizes your whole body. It is the bridge that connects your lower body to your upper body. When you're locked in a range of motion you take all of the stabilization normally required for ab exercises out of the movement. The really ironic part is that those abdominal stabilizer muscles that you're not working on these machines are very important to strengthen in order to prevent the lower back injury that you'll likely experience on one of these machines. Due to the fact that you're not working your stabilizers you're missing out on all of those deep tissue abdominal muscles like your transverse abdominus & your only targeting mostly your rectus abdominus which is the very outer layer six pack looking muscle. The transverse abdominus is very important to work because not only does it help prevent injury, but it also pulls your stomach in keeping everything nice & tight giving you that flat stomach look. If you want to make your ab exercises tougher use weights by simply holding a dumbbell or a plate either behind your head or accross your chest while doing regular traditional ab exercises. Once again if you don't know where to start start with exercises like stability ball crunches, declined situps, & hanging knee tucks. The next exercise you should avoid is the behind the head shoulder press. First off there is absolutely no advantage to going behind your head. None. Even though I'm sure some old school guys will be disagreeing with me in the comments below you can research this yourself & you'll find that when you go behind the head you're still targeting the same muscles that you would if you went in front of your head & there's no advantage when going behind your head that will allow you to build your shoulder muscle faster. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge: http://bit.ly/lose-fat56

This is a six pack ab workout that can be done right in your own house without the use of any equipment. And even though I'm a big fan of using weights while working the abs, there are ways of increasing the intensity of a regular bodyweight ab workout without using equipment like weights. So today in this video I'm gonna share the most powerful six pack ab workout that you can do without weights. It's going to involve exercises that are really intense & they're designed to fatigue your abs without the use of machines, benches, barbells, or dumbbells. Just one thing that I need you to keep in mind before we get started. For this workout & these exercises to be effective you have to make sure that you follow the tips on how to perform them correctly. Since we're not using weights we can instead increase time under tension by going really slow on the negative for some of the exercises. We can also hold a position & squeeze the abs for a certain amount of seconds before continuing the movement. So instead of just repping out these exercises as fast as you can pay close attention to the way I want you to perform them. So this workout is going to start with a tough one. I call these navy seal situps. Now, if you can't do this one don't worry I'll give a regression in a second. But with Navy seal situps you start with both hands at the sides of your head & both of your feet slightly above the ground. Raise your upper body & your lower body up off the ground as if you're performing a v situp except here you're going to bring one elbow to the opposite knee, then return back to the starting positon & bring the other elbow to the opposite knee. It's important that in this exercise you bring your upper body & your lower body off the ground at the same time. You're going to try to perform this exercise for 60 seconds straight. The regression for this exercise is a regular bicycle situp. Where rather than bringing your upper body to your lower body in more of a situp you would instead twist & lift your shoulder blade off the ground rather than your whole upper body. So with navy seal situps you're bringing your upper body completely off the ground, where as with this one you're simply bringing your shoulder blades off the ground. Now let's say that you can only get 30 seconds of the more advanced navy seal situps before the exercise becomes too hard that's totally fine simply move on to the regression halfway through. So as soon as you start failing just switch to the the bicycle situps. After doing those for 60 seconds you want to move on to the second exercise which is a leg raise with a pulse up. For this one start with both hands under your butt with your back flat on the ground & your feet slightly raised off the floor. Raise your legs all the way up until they're pointed straight towards the ceiling, next lift your hips up off the floor without rocking your legs. Once at the top of the movement slowly lower your hips back down towards the ground. Aim for a solid three count when slowly coming back down. repeat this exercise for 45 seconds. If the pulses get too hard at any point just switch to regular leg raises until the 45 seconds are up. Right after you're done with those switch into this next one with no break. Trx Multiplanar curls Hey guys what's going on in today's video I'm going to be going over the top 7 exercises that you could perform on a Trx if your a beginner. I've already made an advanced version in which there are 10 exercises and the reason why the beginner version only has 7 is because I really want you guys to focus on mastering the key movements on the Trx. These basic movements are pretty much where all the other exercises stem from. As a beginner something that you should know is that in any exercise on the TRX we want to make sure that we keep our core really tight. Not only will this ensure that we get a good ab workout but it'll also prevent a lower back injury. This workout will help you learn the basic TRX movements and it'll help increase your core strength your stability and your balance. So let's get right into this with the first exercise the TRX squat For the Trx squats you want to start with your hands on the straps and you want to walk your feet in 2 about a 60 degree angle. If you walk your feet in too far then you won't be able to squat low enough and if you don't walk them in far enough then you're these are going to be going over your toes. Once you find the right position you want to squat down as low as you can and stand back up. This is a great exercise to work the glutes quads and hamstrings. Alright moving on we have TRX knee tucks which is the regression for trx pikes. In this one we're going to put our feet inside the straps of the Trx. And then we're going to walk our hands forward until we're in a push-up position. Make sure that you stay in a straight line and don't let your hips sink. Tuck your knees to your chest and keep your core tight for the whole exercise. This is a great exercise for your core and your ab muscles. Up next we got a Trx chest press grab the straps and walk your feet back until you're in more of a leaning push-up position. The further you walk back the harder the exercise gets. Come down until your hands or even with your chest and then extend back out to complete the movement. This is a great exercise for the chest shoulders and triceps. Be sure to keep your core tight and your fuels butt and the back of your head should be in a straight line. A big mistake that I see is that people will drop their upper body and bend at the waist to make this exercise easier. If you find yourself doing this just walk your feet forward. Now for this next one we're going to hit the antagonist muscles with a TRX row. Here the further that we walk her feet in the harder the exercise gets. Again you're going to grab the straps walk your feet in and you could do this exercise on your heels or with your foot flat on the ground it's really a matter of preference. Then you're going to pull with your elbows not your hands and really squeeze your back on every rep. This is a great exercise for your upper and middle back and for your biceps. Again you want to stay in a straight line while doing this. Next we have a TRX plank. This exercise will help you develop the stability that's necessary for a lot of advanced TRX core and upper-body exercises. Put your feet inside the straps and hold yourself up in a push-up position on your hands. If you can't hold yourself up on your hands and then hold yourself up on your elbows exercise will help you develop the stability that's necessary for a lot of advanced to your core and upper body exercises. Put your feet inside the straps and hold yourself up on your elbows. You want to do your best to keep your hips from sinking down. try to keep your tailbone your heels and your head in a straight line. Now we have the TRX Iyt's here you're going to stand in front of the Trx and grab the straps. Walk your feet in not too far but far enough for the exercise to be challenging. Start with the eye by raising your hands directly over your head while keeping your body in a straight line. Then 4 the Y you're going to open up the angle between your arms a little more to resemble a y and then finally for the T you're going to bring your arms straight out to your sides with your elbows slightly bent. The great exercise for the top and the back of the shoulder.

Strengthening the Core and Correcting Diastasis Recti . Recently a women contacted BIG asking about how to address post-pregnancy ab wall separation, termed "Diastasis Recti" . Part of the program we use to correct this issue is the use of: . Vacuums - an abdominal bracing exercise involving the pelvic floor used to teach mental cueing and physical strengthening of the ab wall to restore ab wall tightness and overall strength . Rotation & Anti-Rotation Exercises - these variances of abdominal training allow for strengthening of the ab wall, as well as other "core" muscles, without exacerbating the Diastasis Recti condition . And, once the person is strong enough and has learned proper cueing of the ab wall, we include direct abdominal work in the form of variations of traditional body weight ab exercises . This video shows one of the Rotation & Anti-Rotation Exercises we use called "Pallof Rotations into Holds" . In this exercise, you can see from the video, a resistance band is used to provide the stimulus . The lifter focuses on maintaining a tight neutral core position rotating through the obliques while minimizing involvement of the hips . This helps to isolate the obliques as well as all of the abdominal bracing muscles . We usually perform these for 3-5 sets of 10 Rotations followed by a 10 second hold per "set" .
