Oil painting lesson «Starlight night», learning to paint as Van Gogh

03:37
http://www.artrecept.com/english/art/150 Today we are going to paint a free copy of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting called «Starlight night». This is one of the most famous and recognizable paintings ever created by a man. Van Gogh’s «Starlight night» is a symbol of human`s imaginative power – it is one of the most incredible and amazing landscapes that one can imagine. Since there are always the most interesting and unusual things learnt in our art lessons, we really have to learn to paint at least something similar to Van Gogh’s «Starlight night». During the work on the painting we will try to feature the technique as high as possible in which this picture is written, the dynamics, rhythmical recurrence and the pastosity of the brush strokes. We will try to catch the spirit and the energy of the painting. It seems to me that one night Vincent Van Gogh, armed with the canvas, brushes and paints, left his house and had a completely convincing intention to paint the most incredible landscape with the most incredible stars, moon, light, sky, wind… We will look at Van Gogh`s painting, feast our eyes on it, examine it adequately and start painting our own Starlight night. Welcome to the online painting school http://www.artrecept.com/english ! And I am its author Elena Khirilchuk. The project goal is to create the video tutorial course concerning the oil painting using the traditional art materials and art painting techniques as well as the various unconventional approaches, methods and materials. Thank you for joining our oil painting course! And welcome to our online painting school!

Dena Peterson - Portraits, Van Gogh Style: How to Paint Like Vincent Van Gogh

02:29
More info: https://liliartvideo.com/peterson2 How to Push Your Boundaries as a Painter Dena Peterson was one of the artists chosen to paint for the groundbreaking animated feature film "Loving Vincent" about the life of Vincent van Gogh as told through his paintings. Each of the film’s 65,000 animation frames is an oil painting on canvas, painted using the same techniques Van Gogh used.. She personally painted over 600 Van Gogh-style paintings. And she discovered something … Van Gogh approached portraits differently than landscapes. Portraits, Van Gogh Style is an instructional video where Dena shares her incredible depth of knowledge and skills in painting the Van Gogh way. It’s Not About Creating a Copy of Van Gogh. It’s About YOUR Unique Voice. Dena's goal is not to copy or teach you to copy Van Gogh’s work exactly, but to understand the combination of technique, passion, and emotion. She’s going to show you how to do that in your own paintings. Dena will show you how to really understand the broken brushwork and impasto techniques that Van Gogh used. Her thorough and easygoing teaching style makes it simple for you to understand and practice each technique. For more information, visit: https://liliartvideo.com/peterson2

Layered Painting Technique with Van Gogh Oils | Jackson's Art Supplies

Art professor Terry Moeller demonstrates the style known as "indirect" or "layered" painting using Van Gogh oil colours by Royal Talens. Painting with Van Gogh oil colours is a joy. Whatever oil colour technique you choose, the pasty paint gives a beautiful result. Choose from a wide and balanced palette. In addition to the lively colours, you above all opt for the certainty of a good oil paint. The fineness, the colour intensity, the high content of pigment and durability contribute to the ultimate expression of your inspiration. Van Gogh oil colours are available from our website: https://www.jacksonsart.com/brands/van-gogh

Without a possibility to erase I am forced to make sure everything goes right at the first try. I was lucky to grow up in a home where creativity was always present, and it grew deep roots in me, since a very early age. I learned that creativity has the power to transform people and the world, it gives us the ability to imagine new possibilities and connect dots. I graduated at Fine Arts School of the University of Lisbon, seeking what I really wanted to do with life, knowing the creative way was the direction to go. All I always wanted the most is to keep learning new things, learn to play guitar, drums, piano, know how to use a camera edit my own videos, learn to paint.. I think we all should want to turn our life into a masterpiece, to become the hero of our own story, or even the God of our own life. I was lost and I moved to London, seeking to be “the traveler in search of signification”. After the first two months I was scared, because I did not find any answers, but I quickly I realized that to be inspired is the ultimate antidote to existential despair. Moved by the distance, sadness and love I started drawing furiously everything and anything, people I love, places I love, or even my dog that I missed so much. So I found my style, sharp strokes made with anger and despair. I Found out that it's only when we are lost that we are found, and perfection is not only about control is also about letting it go. I think we should follow our bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls Drawing Camila Cabello , painting Camila Cabello, , how to drawing Camila Cabello, speed drawing Camila Cabello. draw my life Camila Cabello. Vincent van Gogh: A collection of 1185 sketches (HD)

01:38:58
Vincent van Gogh: A collection of 1185 sketches (HD) Description: "Vincent van Gogh, one of the most well-known post-impressionist artists, for whom color was the chief symbol of expression, was born in Groot-Zundert, Holland on March 30, 1853. The son of a pastor, brought up in a religious and cultured atmosphere, Vincent was highly emotional, lacked self-confidence and struggled with his identity and with direction. He believed that his true calling was to preach the gospel; however, it took years for him to discover his calling as an artist. Between 1860 and 1880, when he finally decided to become an artist, van Gogh had already experienced two unsuitable and unhappy romances and had worked unsuccessfully as a clerk in a bookstore, an art salesman, and a preacher in the Borinage (a dreary mining district in Belgium) where he was dismissed for overzealousness. He remained in Belgium to study art, determined to give happiness by creating beauty. The works of his early Dutch period are somber-toned, sharply lit, genre paintings of which the most famous is "The Potato Eaters" (1885). In that year van Gogh went to Antwerp where he discovered the works of Rubens and purchased many Japanese prints. In 1886, he went to Paris to join his brother Théo, the manager of Goupil's gallery. In Paris, van Gogh studied with Cormon, inevitably metPissarro, Monet, and Gauguin. Having met the new Impressionist painters, he tried to imitate their techniques; he began to lighten his very dark palette and to paint in the short brushstrokes of the Impressionists’ style. Unable to successfully copy the style, he developed his own more bold and unconventional style. In 1888, Van Gogh decided to go south to Arles where he hoped his friends would join him and help found a school of art. At The Yellow House, van Gogh hoped like-minded artists could create together. Gauguin did join him but with disastrous results. Van Gogh’s nervous temperament made him a difficult companion and night-long discussions combined with painting all day undermined his health. Near the end of 1888, an incident led Gauguin to ultimately leave Arles. Van Gogh pursued him with an open razor, was stopped by Gauguin, but ended up cutting a portion of his own ear lobe off. Van Gogh then began to alternate between fits of madness and lucidity and was sent to the asylum in Saint-Remy for treatment. In May of 1890, after a couple of years at the asylum, he seemed much better and went to live in Auvers-sur-Oise under the watchful eye of Dr. Gachet. Two months later, he died from what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound "for the good of all." During his brief career, he did not experience much success, he sold only one painting, lived in poverty, malnourished and overworked. The money he had was supplied by his brother, Theo, and was used primarily for art supplies, coffee and cigarettes. Van Gogh's finest works were produced in less than three years in a technique that grew more and more impassioned in brushstroke, in symbolic and intense color, in surface tension, and in the movement and vibration of form and line. Van Gogh's inimitable fusion of form and content is powerful; dramatic, lyrically rhythmic, imaginative, and emotional, for the artist was completely absorbed in the effort to explain either his struggle against madness or his comprehension of the spiritual essence of man and nature. In spite of his lack of success during his lifetime, van Gogh’s legacy lives on having left a lasting impact on the world of art. Van Gogh is now viewed as one of the most influential artists having helped lay the foundations of modern art." Feel free to subscribe!
