08:56
New to Oracle and .NET development? This video gives you everything you need to know to get up and running quickly! We walk you through downloading and installing the needed Oracle software and then connecting in Visual Studio and creating a simple C# application. The video starts at the Oracle .NET Developer Technology Center website at http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet We then download the "ODTwithODAC" package, extract it and run the installer. Note that ODAC version 12 works with Oracle Database versions 10.2 or higher. After installing we connect in Server Explorer and learn about the connection dialog features, including the Filters tab which by default filters out additional schemas you may have privileges on. We connect to the database using the easy to use EZ connect format. Finally we create a simple C# application and connect to the database using ODP.NET Managed driver and a EZ Config connect string. Prerequisites: 1) Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 -- any edition except Express Edition. Visual Studio Community Edition is supported. 2) An Oracle Database to connect to. You will need to know the hostname, port number and service name of the database. During the video we install: Oracle Data Provider for .NET Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio Oracle .NET Samples Oracle .NET Documentation

How do you get started using Visual Studio to develop .NET web applications that leverage the power of Oracle Database 12c? This beginner-level webcast answers that question and introduces Oracle's offerings for .NET programmers, including Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET), Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio, Oracle Providers for ASP.NET, and .NET stored procedures. Step-by step-demos show you how to get started using each of these free products.
ODP.NET Database Connections: Using Connect Descriptors and Net Service Names

08:33
There are a number of ways Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET) connects to the database. The most common method uses net service names to reference connect descriptors usually stored in the tnsnames.ora file. This video shows the varied ways to use connect descriptors and net service names to successfully connect ODP.NET applications to Oracle Database.

Install entity framework core in visual studio

08:42
In this video we will discuss how to install Entity Framework Core in Visual Studio. Text version of the video https://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2019/04/install-entity-framework-core-in-visual.html Slides https://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2019/04/install-entity-framework-core-in-visual_22.html ASP.NET Core Text Articles & Slides https://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2019/01/aspnet-core-tutorial-for-beginners.html ASP.NET Core Tutorial https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6n9fhu94yhVkdrusLaQsfERmL_Jh4XmU Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, Dot Net & SQL Playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd Depending on how you have your project set up, you may have Entity Framework Core already installed. Single Layer Web Application If it's a small project, you may have your presentation layer, business layer and data access layer all in one project. So if you have created a web application project using ASP.NET Core 2.1 or higher, then in that web application project, you already have Entity Framework Core installed. Entity Framework Core in ASP.NET Core Web Application Project An ASP.NET Core Web application project that is created using ASP.NET Core 2.1 or higher has the following NuGet package installed. Microsoft.AspNetCore.App This package is called - metapackage. A metapackage has no content of its own but is a list of dependencies (other packages). You can find this metapackage, in the Solution Explorer. When you expand the metapackage, you can find all the dependencies. In the dependencies you will find the Entity Framework Core nuget packages already installed. So the point that I am trying to make is, an asp.net core web application project that is created using ASP.NET Core Version 2.1 or later will have Entity Framework Core already installed as part of the meta package. Multi Layer Web Application In a large application we will usually have at least the following 3 layers Presentation Layer Business Logic Layer Data Access Layer These layers are implemented as separate projects. Entity Framework Core is usually required in the Data Access Layer project. The Data Access Layer project is a class library project and does not usually have the meta package referenced. So this means, Entity Framework Core is not installed for the Data Access Layer project. To install Entity Framework Core and to be able to use SQL server as the database for your application, you need to install the following nuget packages. Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer - This nuget package contains SQL Server specific functionality Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Relational - This nuget package contains functionality that is common to all relational databases Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore - This nuget package contains common entity frameowrk core functionality Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer has a dependency on Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Relational package. Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Relational package has a dependency on Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore package. Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore package has a dependency on several other packages. When we install Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer package, it also installs all the other dependant nuget packages automatically. In a class library project, to install a nuget package Right click on the "Dependencies" node in "Solution Explorer" and Select "Manage NuGet Packages" from the context menu. On the screen that pops up, search for the package that you want to install and follow the onscreen instructions. We want to use SQL Server as the database for our application, so we used the nuget package Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer. This package is usually called Database provider package. If you want to use a different database with your application, then you will have to install that database provider specific nuget package instead of Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer database provider package. For example, if you want to use mysql as your database, then install Pomelo.EntityFrameworkCore.MySql database provider package. Along the same lines, if you want to use PostgreSQL as your database, use Npgsql.EntityFrameworkCore.PostgreSQL database provider package. You can find all the provider specific NuGet packages on the following MSDN page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/core/providers/

The view then renders the data. Model can be entities or business objects. In part 7, we have built Employee entity. public class Employee { public int EmployeeId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Gender { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } } In this video, we will discuss, retrieving data from a database table tblEmployee using entity framework. In a later video, we will discuss using business objects as our model. Step 1: Install entity framework, if you don't have it installed already on your computer. At the time of this recording the latest version is 5.0.0.0. Using nuget package manager, is the easiest way to install. A reference to EntityFramework.dll is automatically added. Open visual studio - Tools - Library Package Manager - Manage NuGet Packages for Solution Step 2: Add EmployeeContext.cs class file to the Models folder. Add the following "using" declaration. using System.Data.Entity; Copy & paste the following code in EmployeeContext.cs public class EmployeeContext : DbContext { // Replace square brackets, with angular brackets public DbSet[Employee] Employees {get; set;} } EmployeeContext class derives from DbContext class, and is responsible for establishing a connection to the database. So the next step, is to include connection string in web.config file. Step 3: Add a connection string, to the web.config file, in the root directory. Step 4: Map "Employee" model class to the database table, tblEmployee using "Table" attribute as shown below. [Table("tblEmployee")] public class Employee { public int EmployeeId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Gender { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } } Note: "Table" attribute is present in "System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.Schema" namespace. Step 5: Make the changes to "Details()" action method in "EmployeeController" as shown below. public ActionResult Details(int id) { EmployeeContext employeeContext = new EmployeeContext(); Employee employee = employeeContext.Employees.Single(x =] x.EmployeeId == id); return View(employee); } Step 6: Finally, copy and paste the following code in Application_Start() function, in Global.asax file. Database class is present "in System.Data.Entity" namespace. Existing databases do not need, database initializer so it can be turned off. Database.SetInitializer[MVCDemo.Models.EmployeeContext](null); That's it, run the application and notice that the relevant employee details are displayed as expected.

इस विडियो में हम सीखेंगे ADO.NET क्या है इसमें included Namespaces और इनका क्या उपयोग है . 1. What is ADO.NET? & use of ADO.NET ADO.NET is a database technology of .NET framework which is used to communicate between front end application and backend database 2. Namespaces resides under ADO.NET ADO.NET provides various classes to communicate with different databases. These classes are divided into following namespaces 1. System.Data 2. System.Data.Oledb 3. System.Data.Odbc 4. System.Data.SqlClient 5. System.Data.OracleClient 3. Use of these Namespaces 1. System.Data Collection of classes which are used for holding and managing the data on client machine. The classes are DataSet DataTable, DataColumn, DataRow, DataView, DataRelation etc. 2. System.Data.Oledb Object linking and embedding database which is collection of classes used for communication with any data source. 3. System.Data.Odbc Open database connectivity which is collection of classes used for communication with any data source Difference between ODBC and OLEDB Odbc It’s a traditional (old) way to communicate with any data source. Odbc is used to connect with relational database or sql based database What is Relational database? Ex. Oracle, Sqlserver, MS-excel Oledb It’s newer version of Odbc to connect with any database Oledb is used to connect with relational and non-relational databases which are based on sql or non-sql Ex. Oracle, Sqlserver, MS-Excel and Email, MS-word, XML What is relational database? The database which stores data in the form of rows and columns or tables called as relational database. Can specify relation between them (Tabular form) What is non-relational database? The database which stores data in the form of text, xml like MS-word, email etc. (Non Tabular form) 4. System.Data.SqlClient This is collection of classes which used to communicate with only SqlServer data source 5. System.Data.OracleClient This is collection of classes which used to communicate with only Oracle data source

Leveraging Oracle Multitenant from Visual Studio and .NET

10:08
.NET developers: Watch this video to learn how to take advantage of Oracle Multitenant, a new feature of Oracle Database 12c, while using Visual Studio. Oracle Multitenant makes it easy for developers to quickly make copies of existing databases, create/destroy new test databases quickly, and to share databases with other developers. If you would like to try out what you see in this video you will need access to an Oracle Database version 12.1 or later that was configured to use a container database. You will also need to download and install: 1) Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio version 12.1 or higher 2) Oracle Data Provider for .NET version 12.1 or higher This software can be found on the .NET Developer center (http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet) as part of the "ODTwithODAC" download packaging. For instructions on how to install this, see the Quick Start Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrzDOk8gg5A Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 is supported - any edition except Express Edition (Community Edition is supported). Oracle Multitenant, introduced in Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1), enables an Oracle database to function as a multitenant container database (CDB) that includes zero, one, or many customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs). A PDB is a portable collection of schemas, schema objects, and nonschema objects that appears to any Oracle client application as a non-CDB. Note: all Oracle database versions prior to Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1) are known as non-CDBs. A CDB contains one seed database, which is a system-supplied template that the CDB can use to create new PDBs. The seed PDB is named PDB$SEED. You cannot add or modify objects in PDB$SEED. Because new PDBs are essentially copied from the seed rather than created from scratch, PDB creation time is generally much faster than creating a non-CDB. PDBs can also be cloned from other PDBs in a similarly fast amount of time. PDBs can be unplugged, which means they are removed from the CDB, and exist on the database server simply as a set of files: a metadata XML file along with some database files (.DBFs). This combination of metadata file and database files can then be easily plugged into any other CDB that is compatible with the PDB. From the point of view of .NET developers who have SYSDBA privileges, this makes testing a database configuration with your application as simple as cloning an existing PDB, or plugging in a PDB in the form of some provided database files. Similarly, a database configuration can be shared with other developers, either by cloning or through unplugging and sharing the database files. If a user with SYSDBA privileges makes a connection to a CDB in Visual Studio Server Explorer, a Pluggable Databases Node appears in the tree control. When that node is expanded, the seed PDB, along with any other available PDBs, appear as child nodes. From there, operations such as Create New, Plug, Unplug, Clone, Delete, Open, and Close can all be easily achieved.

Event Cell End Edit On Qty With VB.NET Connect to ORACLE

18:06
With the popularity of Microsoft's .NET Framework, many developers are hungry for information about the best means of integrating .NET applications with Oracle—not only in terms of basic connectivity, but also in relationship to effective and efficient application development using Visual Studio 2005 or 2008. In this article, I'll explain the basic yet essential processes involved in building a .NET application that uses an Oracle database, including: How to add project references to support Oracle class libraries in your .NET project How to create Oracle Database connection strings How to work with Connection, Command, and DataReader objects You will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned in three practice labs, ranging in difficulty from the relatively simple to the more complex. The article's screenshots are taken from Visual Studio 2008, but the experience is very similar in Visual Studio 2005. For information and labs about how to secure your application, see my article " Securing a .NET Application on the Oracle Database". (Also, see the OTN .NET Developer Center for technical articles covering a range of Oracle.NET application lifecycle issues.) Note that the free Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio, available for download from OTN, provides a Visual Studio add-in that makes the development of .NET apps on Oracle much easier and more intuitive. That subject is beyond our scope here, however. .NET Data Provider In addition to basic Oracle client connectivity software, .NET applications require the use of what is known as a managed data provider (where "managed" refers to code managed by the .NET framework). The data provider is the layer between the .NET application code and the Oracle client connectivity software. In almost every case, the best performance is achieved by using a provider optimized for a specific database platform instead of the generic .NET OLE DB data provider. Oracle, Microsoft, and third-party vendors all offer .NET data providers optimized for Oracle. Oracle and Microsoft make their Oracle data providers available for free. (Microsoft's provider for the .NET Framework 2.0 is included in the framework, but it still requires Oracle client software installation.) In this article, we will use of the Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET), which is included with the Oracle Database or as a separate download. ODP.NET provides standard ADO.NET data access, while exposing Oracle database-specific features, such as XML DB, data access performance optimizations, and Real Application Clusters connection pooling. When ODP.NET and Oracle client software are installed, application development using Visual Studio can begin. It's a good idea to confirm client connectivity before starting development. If you can connect to Oracle using Oracle client software such as SQL*Plus on the same machine as Visual Studio, then you know that your Oracle client-side software is properly installed and configured. If you are new to Oracle, see the section "Installing .NET Products" in the Oracle Database 2 Day Developer's Guide for background information regarding installing and configuring ODP.NET specifically, or to the Oracle Database Documentation Library for general information about Oracle Database.

c# Dapper Mvc Crud QueryWarehouse Part -3

30:31
What is Dapper Dapper is simple/ micro ORM for the .NET world. It's a NuGet library that can be added to any .NET project for database operations. ORM stands for Object Relational Mapping, meaning the entire database can be operated in terms of OO classes, Interfaces etc. ORM creates a "virtual database" in terms of classes and provides methods to work with those classes. Dapper is a Micro ORM as it's architected to focus on the most important task of working with database tables instead of creating, modifying the database schema, tracking changes etc. Hey, I never heard of Dapper, who uses it? Dapper is in production use at Stack Overflow. Really? Yes, Dapper was created by StackOverflow team to address their issues and open source it. Dapper used at Stack Overflow itself showcases its strength. Why use Dapper Dapper is a NuGet library, can be used with any .NET project. Quite lightweight, high performance. Drastically reduces the database access code. Focus on getting database tasks done instead of being full-on ORM. We cover more on this Work with any database - SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc. For an existing database, using Dapper is an optimal choice. Choosing Dapper over EF Core EF Core and Dapper are both great technologies, but choosing Dapper would be based on your requirements and here are mine Existing database with lots of stored procedure fetching a good amount of records. Developer's familiarity in working with raw SQL or ADO.NET. The application mainly involves fetching for dashboards, reports. Dapper uses underlying SQLConnection to work with the database, so easy it's quite easy to use a different database at the same time i.e. I would use Dapper for SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL in the same application. In real world apps, we usually don't deal with a single database. Dapper is a NuGet library that can be added to any project. It extends the IDbConnection interface. The IDbConnection interface represents an open connection to data source implemented by the .NET framework. Every database provider extends this interface to for their database i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL etc. Dapper uses this connection, has its own set of methods to work with database independent of which database being chosen. This design goal of Dapper makes it easy to with any database almost in its own way. The following image shows the IDbConnection extended in the SQLConnection class (SQL Server provider).
