How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! 9 Secrets Hidden in Famous Logos - Part 3
Logos are everywhere. We are bombarded on a day to day basis with brand names and marketing gimmicks. But have you ever stopped to look at them? Like, really look at them? 1. Pepsi Pepsi has gone through a whole lot of logo tweaks since the Cola Wars began, but one time in particular, in the run-up to the Mexican Day of the Dead, Pepsi released bottles with an inverted logo. Many surprised shoppers were amazed to read "Is Ded" on the bottles. 2. Nike A student named Carolyn Davidson was paid a mere $35 for designing this logo in 1975. The world-famous symbol represents the wings of the Greek goddess Nike who used to inspire warriors to victory. 3. Eighty 20 Renowned data analysis experts eighty 20 have an interesting logo which at first appears to be a checkered pattern, maybe even a reference to the first computer game, pong. But if you count the blue squares as 1's and the grey as zeros, it actually says "80" followed by "20". A bit of nerdy data analyst humor, there. 4. Facebook Places Facebook Places is a geolocation feature on Facebook by which users check into certain locations via their mobile phones. It was heavily criticised as being a copy of popular app Foursquare, especially as the Facebook Places logo is literally a square with a four on it. Coincidence? Zuckerbergggg! 5. Coca-Cola While the Coca-Cola Company denies it, historical evidence suggests that the original Coca-Cola did, in fact, contain cocaine. Created in 1886 by Atlanta pharmacist John Pemberton, who modeled the beverage after a French refreshment, coca wine, made by mixing coca-leaf extract with Bordeaux wine. Pemberton mixed coca-leaf extract with sugar syrup instead, to avoid liquor restrictions. He also added kola-nut extract, and Coca-Cola was born. Cocaine, sugar and an extra jolt of caffeine. Many have also pointed out another hidden feature; if you turn the logo on it's side, you can make out a man spitting. Which is completely ridiculous. 6. Metro Goldwyn Mayer A studio publicist came up with the idea of using a lion in the MGM logo, just because it was the mascot of his University. Over the years the logo has seen 5 different lions. The first lion named "Slats" was the most passive, just sitting there, while his predecessor "Jackie" roared, despite the films still being silent. The lion we're all familiar with today is named "Leo". 7. Samsung Way back in 1938, nearly 40 years before Apple or any other cellphone company even existed, Samsung sold its first product. A dried kipper. Yes, Samsung or "Three Stars" translated from Korean, started off exporting dried fruit, fish and vegetables! Over the years the stars changed along with the company's products, before becoming one of the most recognised logos in the world. 8. Formula 1 This is designed to look like a waving checkered flag significant of Formula One races, on which we can see the F and 1 of Formula one. But there is also another 1 hidden between the other two white letters. 9. Colombia Before there was Uncle Sam, or the statue of Liberty even, there was the torch-bearing Lady Columbia in her patriotic robes and armor, leading the way for America. The personification of Columbia fell out of use and she was largely replaced by the Statue of Liberty as a feminine symbol of the United States. Lucky then, that she is immortalised in the Columbia Pictures logo. Which of these hidden secrets surprised you the most? Comment Below! See more at www.brilliantnews.com

In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve and color has meaning behind it. Here are 17 famous logos with hidden meanings that we never noticed before. Fascinating! 17. Hyundai Many people are inclined to think that the logo of the South Korean conglomerate Hyundai is simply the first letter of its name. But actually, the letter ’Н’ symbolises two people (a client and a representative of the company) shaking hands. 16. Adidas The name Adidas is derived from that of its founder, Adolf Dassler. The company’s logo has changed over time, but it’s always included three stripes. The current configuration is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolises a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges which all athletes have to overcome. 15. Apple Rob Yanov, the designer who created with the world-famous Apple company logo, has explained how he came up with the idea: ’I bought a whole bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Taking a bite out of an apple was part of the experiment, and completely by coincidence I realised that ’bite’ sounded exactly the same as the computer term ’byte’. 14. Sony Vaio The first two letters of the logo of Sony Vaio make up a wave, which represents an analogue symbol, whereas the last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. 13. Amazon At first glance, Amazon’s logo appears to be nothing special. But it was designed with the philosophy of the company in mind. The orange arrow is similar to a smile, as the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product imaginable (’from A to Z’). 12. Baskin-Robbins The pink-colored areas of the "BR" part of the logo here make up the number 31, which is the number of different flavors of ice cream that Baskin-Robbins used to famously sell. 11. Toyota Many people have compared the logo of the Japanese car-producer Toyota to the image of a cowboy wearing a stereotypical hat. But it actually represents a stylised image of the eye of a needle with a thread passed through it. This is a hint at the company’s past — of a time when it used to produce weaving machines. At the same time, the individual parts of the logo also spell out the letters of the company’s name. 8. Pinterest The logo of the popular internet site Pinterest, which people use to collect images they like from across net and ’pin’ them to their online notice board, has the image of a pin hidden in the letter P. 6. Toblerone Toblerone, the famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, includes a silhouette of a bear in its logo, on account of the fact that Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. 5. BMW It’s often supposed that the central part of the BMW logo symbolizes the rotating blades of an airplane, in line with the company’s early history of aviation technology, but it is in fact simply a part of the Bavarian flag — the area of Germany where the company originated. 4. LG The logo of the South Korean electronics company LG is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to maintain ordinary, human relations with its customers. 3. Evernote Elephants are known for having impressive memories, including their ability to remember both faces and events. It’s for this reason that Evernote, a note-taking application, uses an image of the animal as part of its logo. 1. Pepsi 2. Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola vs Pepsi - Logos evolution
http://www.ilovemotiondesign.com/ /idea: I saw a picture where logos of Pepsi changes and logo of Coca-Cola is the same since 1885. I knew it's not a true and it brings me an idea to make an animation with logos evolution. During production I found that would be cool when someone will change these logos. At first I thought about the creators of these two drinks but they weren't characteristically. With Coke was easier - Santa but Pepsi? Roberto Carlos? Britney Spears? There was a problem.. but I remembered a great commercial with Shaolin Monks. And that's why next to logos of Pepsi is a monk with a scar on his forehead. Many logos wasn't in good shape or thier resolution was ultra small and I had to draw it by hand. Of course there aren't here all logos because in the beggining of 1900s there was dozens of logos' variations with small changes for labels, print ads and packaging. But the most important logos are here. /directed & animated by: Bartlomiej Otlowski /music: Ok Go - Here It Goes Again /programs used: Photoshop & After Effects

12 Famous Logos With A Hidden Meaning
Check , these are 12 famous logos with a hidden meaning! 12. Apple One of the most popular theories about the logo on the back of your iPhone is that the bitten apple is a tribute to Alan Turing, English computer scientist and mathematician best known for cracking the German Enigma code during World War II. It’s Turing’s in 1954 that provides the link with Apple. Unrecognized for his work during his lifetime, facing jail time for gross indecency, and humiliated by estrogen injections intended to 'cure' his homosexuality, Turing committed suicide by biting into an apple laced with cyanide. But there’s yet another meaning of the bite taken out of the Apple logo. According to Rob Yanov, the designer who came up with the Apple company logo, he bought a whole bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Taking a bite out of an apple was part of the experiment, and completely by coincidence he realized that ’bite’ sounded exactly the same as the computer term ’byte’. 11. Coca-Cola The Coca-Cola logo was created in 1886 by Frank Mason Robinson, the bookkeeper who worked for Coca-Cola inventor John Pemberton. Robinson came up with the idea to write the Coca-Cola name in Spencerian script which was popular with bookkeepers of the era. Robinson was also the one who gave the syrup formula the name Coca-Cola, where Coca came from the coca leaves and Cola for the kola nuts. Today, the Coca-Cola logo is one of the most recognizable logos in the world, but have you ever noticed that this famous logo hides the Danish flag? If you looks closely at the ‘o’ in Cola and magnify it, you will see it resembles the flag of Denmark. This discovery was made by the Danish advertising company McCann Copenhagen. Even though Coca-Cola claimed the appearance of the flag was a pure coincidence and that they had been unaware of the hidden flag, the company decided to make the most of its Denmark connection. In 2013, Coca-Cola partnered with the McCann agency to make an interactive airport ad that dispenses flags. Why? Apparently it's a Danish custom to greet arriving travelers by waving small flags, and Coca-Cola wanted to make a point of the fact that passengers were arriving in Denmark, ranked as "the happiest country in the world." 10. Amazon Did you know that Amazon was originally called "Cadabra", an abbreviated version of "Abracadabra”? The company founder Jeff Bezos changed the name to Amazon in 1995 after a lawyer misheard its original name over the phone as "cadaver". Bezos decided that the name should definitely start with an A, and perhaps have a Z in it, to represent the wide range of books he would be selling. And that’s exactly what the yellow arrow on the logo under the word ‘amazon’ represents. To help him come up with the logo for his newly founded company, Bezos got in touch with Turner Duckworth, a design agency known for their work with major companies like Burger King, Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, Levi's, and Oreo. The Amazon logo was created to represent the message that it sells everything from A to Z and if you’ve paid attention to the logo you’ve probably noticed that the yellow arrow connects the two letters. But there’s another meaning behind the curved yellow arrow. The shape of the arrow has a round-edged, organic quality to it, and the right side actually bends the bottom stem of the "z" upwards, representing the smile that customers would experience by shopping on the Amazon.com web site. Eventually, the “smiley arrow” beneath the logo was transported to each and every box that Amazon shipped, transforming them into famous “smiley boxes.” Before we move on with our list, go ahead and hit that subscribe button so you don’t miss any of our upcoming content! 9. BMW BMW is yet another world-famous logo that every person instantly associates with German luxury car manufacturer. But the true meaning of the 'sky blue and white quartered' BMW logo is actually the most l issue of the company. According to Dr. Florian Triebel, Executive Board Member of BMW, "there are two traditions concerning the significance of the BMW logo and trademark, offering two different interpretations of its sky blue and white fields. One interpretation points to a rotating propeller. The other relates the BMW logo to Bavaria as the place where the products are manufactured". The current BMW logo is said to be inspired from the circular design of a rotating aircraft propeller.

The Coca Cola History Documentary
It was 1886, and in New York Harbour, workers were constructing the Statue of Liberty. Eight hundred miles away, another great American symbol was about to be unveiled. Like many people who change history, John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist, was inspired by simple curiosity. One afternoon, he stirred up a fragrant, caramel-coloured liquid and, when it was done, he carried it a few doors down to Jacobs' Pharmacy. Here, the mixture was combined with carbonated water and sampled by customers who all agreed - this new drink was something special. So Jacobs' Pharmacy put it on sale for five cents (about 3p) a glass.

Coca Cola The Power of a Brand.😀
Coca-Cola: The Power of a Brand By: Bob Zurn There are few images as recognizable throughout the world as the Coca-Cola brand. Travel to the furthest reaches of the globe and you will probably encounter it on a clock or a sign, if not on the drink itself. Marketers today look to the Coca-Cola brand as a model of marketing power. Its image has transcended national borders and cultural barriers to reach almost everyone on earth. How did the Coca-Cola symbol become such an omnipresent image? Beginning in 1886, Coca-Cola president John Pemberton began traveling the country introducing pharmacists to the drink. At that time it was considered a medicinal substance that could relieve headaches and other minor woes. Candler distributed clocks, calendars and other items laden with the Coca-Cola logo as he toured the country, spreading the brand and selling his product. From there the brand continued to penetrate further around the world. The bottling rights to Coca-Cola were sold in 1899 and in 1915 the Root family submitted a standard size bottle for distribution, but it was too fat in the middle. The Coca-Cola Company liked the bottle so much they thinned it down and has been used ever since and is called a Hobbleskirt Bottle. By 1920, with new bottlers springing up all the time, the brand had expanded into Cuba, France, Puerto Rico and other territories. Its world dominance would increase further with World War II, when Coca-Cola promised that "every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever he is, and whatever it costs the company." Suddenly Coca-Cola could be found throughout Europe as American GIs carried it with them, and by 1960 the number of countries with Coke bottling plants had doubled. Today Coke remains a powerful brand with over a century of history behind it. As a result, items featuring previous incarnations of the Coke image have become classic pieces of Americana. The success of the Coca-Cola brand has made it an icon not just in the world of brand marketing but of American history. It symbolizes the popularity of a soft drink as well as the dominance of American entrepreneurialism in the twentieth century and beyond.
