Piqua Ohio - A crying drunk cop who was involved in a car accident is being allowed to go home instead of jail. Piqua Police Department Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PiquaPD/ PIQUA — A Piqua police officer is on administrative leave after wrecking his patrol vehicle while he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol over the weekend. Officer Justin W. Augustine, 38, of Troy, reportedly struck a a flat-bed semi-trailer loaded with concrete barriers used to separate lanes in road construction areas. The trailer had damage to a light fixture on the front right corner. Dick Lumpkin’s Towing towed the police cruiser from the scene. Piqua Chief of Police Bruce Jamison released a statement on Monday regarding the incident, explaining that during the course of that supervisor’s investigation, reasonable suspicion was developed to charge that officer with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to Jamison. An internal investigation was commenced. When Lt. Byron asked Augustine what happened, Augustine reportedly said again that he was trying to urinate. Augustine said that he was driving 20 mph during the incident. Augustine would also occasionally yell obscenities while he was being questioned. An officer observed that Augustine’s eyes “were bloodshot and red and that his speech was slow and slurred,” according to police reports. A Four Loko Gold 14 percent alcohol per volume malt beer can was later located in the driver’s door of Augustine’s personal vehicle. An empty can of the same beverage was also found near the crash scene. The Piqua Police Department attempted to have Augustine go to the Upper Valley Medical Center to undergo a drug and alcohol screen due to being in an accident with a city-owned vehicle, but he refused. Augustine reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day, but he refused all OVI tests and was placed under an Administrative License Suspension (ALS). "Officer Augustine walked me to the passenger side of his patrol vehicle, where I observed significant damage to the entire passenger side starting at the front windshield and ending on the rear quarter panel," officers wrote in a police report read. "While speaking with Officer Augustine, I observed that his eyes were bloodshot and red and that his speech was slow and slurred." A short time later, after Augustine had been taken back to the police station, another officer told the supervisor investigating that he felt the supervisor "needed to go on station to deal with Officer Augustine as he appeared to be impaired and was demonstrating odd behavior, to include hugging and kissing him and other officers and telling them that he loved them." Officer Augustine told investigators "he had been drunk today, but denied being drunk now." Police ended up finding Four Loko Gold alcoholic beverage can in the driver's door of Augustine's personal vehicle at the police station and also located a can of the same drink near the crash scene. cops arresting cops drunk cop drunk cops cops arresting cops drunk cop drunk cops Drunk Cop Hands Over His Keys to His Police Car

It is left unedited so that people may understand what actually happened in this event. It may contain graphic video and/or audio. Viewer discretion is advised. Police bodycam video shows a police officer drunk and behind the wheel of a car. Joe Marche, East Cleveland Police Detective, was found intoxicated and slumped over the wheel in an unmarked city car by Bratenahl, Ohio police. According to police Marche locked the doors and was unwilling to get out of the car. Eventually police had to break two windows before he attempted to put the SUV in gear. Marche finally complied and they found a loaded automatic weapon in his police bag. Anderson claims the case was never brought to the attention of Cleveland citizens and that they have a right to know. "This is very concerning, it's disturbing, they are supposed to protect and serve us, and if you're riding around intoxicated, Lord knows what could he could have done," Anderson said. East Cleveland Councilman Nathaniel Martin is also wondering why the case wasn't examined further. After all Marche had his driver's license suspended but was granted working driving privileges. East Cleveland Police Department consulted with four other police departments to insure a 30 day suspension was appropriate. Police also said that Marche has no other prior convictions and that he accidentally mixed prescription medication with alcohol. "He accepted full responsibility, it was an error in judgment, and like I said, nobody feels worse that Joe Marche," said East Cleveland Commander Scott Gardner.

"I'm a constitutional f**** officer! You can't take me to jail!" "That doesn't have to read what it f**** reads!" At approximately 4:00 pm on November 16, 2018 Kalkaska Sheriff's Deputy Ashley VanSloten was dispatched to a location on M-66 just south of Lund Road in Garfield Township, Michigan, after multiple calls were received reporting a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with an unresponsive male slumped over the steering wheel. VanSloten handled the call and ultimately arrested Midland County Sheriff Scott Stephenson, who blew a .233 on a preliminary breathalyzer test. Despite his easily having met the requirements of Michigan's "super drunk" statute - a real thing, coming into play at .17 - Stephenson tried every trick in the book to avoid jail: begging and pleading, cursing, speaking gibberish, suggesting the destruction and falsification of records, and imploring friends in high places to intervene on his behalf. Ultimately, however, the sheriff's pleas fell on [mostly] deaf ears, and Stephenson was arrested and booked into jail for operating a vehicle while impaired. As former Kalkaska County Sheriff Jerry Cannon says in this video, "It's not like the old days." That is, of course, incredibly true given what is happening right now in your life. You have the opportunity to literally replay this incident as you draw your own conclusions about it. Your court is now in session, and it's not like the old days. Which is a good thing. ~~~ Shout out to Chris Little for bringing this story to my attention. When Chris emailed me and let me know about Stephenson's arrest the story had already been covered by a number of news media outlets, all of whom had published two to seven minutes of body worn camera footage. I generally don't cover stories that have already been published elsewhere, and with that backdrop this video almost didn't happen. When I watched the available body cam footage, however, I noticed a lot of gaps in the time stamps. Working under the assumption that additional non-exempt footage existed, I started tangling with the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office over the records. After two months of - frankly - obstruction, I recently received hours of exclusive additional material. The highlights from that content are in the video above. Thanks again, Chris. ~~~~~~ Enjoy Real World Police? Me too! But making it all happen is a full-time job and obtaining this channel's exclusive content costs well over $1,000 a month (surprise!). Washtenaw County Lt. Brian Filipak is on an administrative leave as the investigation continues. Video shows Filipak repeatedly asking to just be let go, but the Montmorency deputies weren’t having it, and at one point, told him they would use a stun gun on him if he didn’t knock it off. “Brian, I’m going to have you step out of the car and do some field sobriety tests,” an officer said. Filipak was pulled over after deputies said they saw his car weave all over the road. “Just let me stay here,” Filipak said. He pleaded with the deputies to let him sleep it off on the side of the road, repeatedly refusing to budge from his truck. The deputy told him he had to get out of the truck now, but Filipak continued to refuse the orders and forced the deputies to pull him from his pickup truck. Sandusky Police Officer Kenneth Gautschi Jr. was stopped on Fox Road by an Erie County sheriff’s deputy around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. He was off duty at the time. The deputy stopped the vehicle Gautschi was driving for speeding. According to reports, the officer was driving about 20 miles over the posted 55 mph speed limit. Moments after the stop, the deputy called for a sergeant. The deputy can be heard telling Gautschi that he felt the officer was under the influence of alcohol. “I’m trying to understand why you think I’m an OVI,” Gautschi can be heard asking the deputy. The deputy said he smelled the odor of alcohol and that Gautschi was slurring his words. “I’m slurred,” Gautschi asked. Gautschi was taken to the Ohio State Highway Patrol post for a blood-alcohol breath test, where he blew a .169, the report states. The legal limit in Ohio is .08. He was also charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and felony vandalism for allegedly causing damage to the cruiser by striking it while wearing handcuffs. The report said the cruiser had a large dent and several scratches. “We treated him like we treat anyone else,” said Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth. Sandusky Police Chief John Orzech said Gautschi has been with the department for 19 years, and has done good work during that time. Gautschi has now been placed on a paid administrative leave pending the completion of an internal investigation.

Officer Young stopped to check on 32-year-old Brandy Kimball because she was concerned for her safety, but she soon learned that Kimball was allegedly highly intoxicated or at least that's what she claims. Kimball is seen recording the police with her cell phone. Kimball stated that her dad and boyfriend were coming to pick her up. She then asked police why they stopped her and when they stated because she was walking in the road and they didn't want her to get hurt, police said she immediately became irritated and began yelling profanities. Several other officers, including a police captain, arrived on the scene and decided to move Kimball out of the street and into the parking lot at the GetGo on U.S. 422 and Route 46, she stumbled and fell down. At one point, Kimball allegedly said to Officer Young, "Take your badge off and see what happens." She told the officer that if she wasn't wearing a bade she would assault her. A few minutes later she told police they were disrespectful to her. She allegedly told the officer she would find her kids and, "I'll beat their ass." It was at that point that a summons was written for public intoxication, and Kimball was placed under arrest. That's when she punched Officer Young in the side of the face.

** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** A Norwood police officer pulled a driver from his burning car after the man crashed during a police chase early Tuesday morning. Ryan Brown's car caught fire after crashing into a parked car and then into a pole on Montgomery Road about 2:30 a.m., police said. It shows Brown hitting a parked SUV near Cypress Way in Pleasant Ridge and then continuing north at speeds up to 80 mph until hitting a pole near Kincaid Road, police said. Brown, 36, of Mount Healthy, was knocked unconscious by the impact. The first arriving officer, Mike Jackson, approached Brown's car with gun drawn but quickly noticed it was a different kind of emergency. Jackson pulled Brown out of the car and dragged him to safety. "They saved that suspect’s life," Lt. Ron Murphy said. The chase started about 2 ½ miles away in Norwood. Harvey was running radar when Brown passed close to his cruiser. "The subject kind of rode the double yellow line and almost sideswiped him, so that’s when Officer Harvey pulled out and advised dispatch that he was going to be stopping a vehicle for an investigation of OVI," Murphy said. Harvey’s lights and siren fail to stop Brown. "We’re passing 5023 Montgomery. We’re still northbound. There’s still no traffic. Speeds are 50 now," Murphy said as he described what was happening in the video. Brown hit a parked car, but that wasn't the end of the chase. "The officers get out thinking they’re going to make an apprehension and then he backs up and drives away up the sidewalk," Murphy said. Norwood’s policy allows pursuits in OVI cases, but officers must take traffic volume, speed and safety into consideration. There was little traffic at 2:30 in the morning. "There were points in the video where it looks like the officers were in the 70s and possibly the 80s in this video, but based on their training and the supervisor on duty at the time, that was reasonable for the conditions they were faced with," Murphy said. Brown underwent surgery at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, OVI, failure to comply, OVI and driving under suspension. Police said they found 163 grams of marijuana in the vehicle along with a digital scale with marijuana residue on it.
