Building Serious JavaFX 2 Applications

01:01:28
Most JavaFX 2 samples look and feel great, but they are often developed within a single class, in a completely unrealistic way. This session discusses how to implement real-world JavaFX applications with back-end access, unit and integration tests, Maven builds, and data binding. It also demonstrates the separation of concerns with the model-view-presenter pattern, with real-world code. This is probably the only JavaFX 2 session without special effects, animations, and custom components. Copyright © 2013 Oracle and/or its affiliates. 3-D Made Easy with JavaFX

56:34
JavaFX enables developers to build, render, and manipulate objects with 2-D or 3-D transformation matrices. This session focuses on how to mix 2-D and 3-D objects and points out the various pitfalls to avoid. It demonstrates how you can add 3-D effects to your 2-D application. It covers a range of 3-D topics such as the coordinate system, rendering semantics, depth buffer, and camera. It also shows new features under development, such as movable cameras, 3-D geometry, lighting, and materials. Copyright © 2013 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Audio and Video Processing in JavaFX

48:19
JavaFX offers developers many benefits such as the ability to include audio and video content in applications and applets. JavaFX Media is the component of JavaFX that handles audio and video data. In this session, learn about the architecture, interfaces, and features of Java FX Media as it exists today and which improvements are envisioned for the future. Hear suggestions for good programming practices with media across the supported platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows, and so on), and watch a demonstration of JavaFX Media in action. Time will be allotted for questions and discussion. Copyright © 2013 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Oracle® is a registered trademark of Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. JavaFX will be removed from JDK 11

03:33
Article : https://goo.gl/JDLy38 JavaFX is a set of graphics and media packages that enables developers to design, create, test, debug, and deploy rich client applications that operate consistently across diverse platforms. The look and feel of JavaFX applications can be customized. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) separate appearance and style from implementation so that developers can concentrate on coding. Graphic designers can easily customize the appearance and style of the application through the CSS. JavaFX will be removed from JDK 11 JavaFX was released by Sun Microsystem in 2007. In 2011 it became open source. The usage of JavaFX was going down over the year. There were no frequent updates for JavaFX where as there were many updates for Java. To keep JDK updates stable JavaFX will now be a separate module than the JDK. If anyone wants to use JavaFX then he wiil have to download the JavaFX module seperately as it will not be included in the JDK. TUT2097 Are You Listening? JavaFX Binding Techniques for Rich Client UIs

01:59:27
JavaFX 8 offers a rich set of visually appealing GUI components with a property binding mechanism for event handling. This tutorial shows how JavaFX binding makes desktop client application development easier and faster. It begins with an overview of JavaFX binding strategies as an alternative to event listeners. After seeing how bindings work with JavaFX controls, you will learn how JavaFX binding simplifies event-driven programming with effects, shapes, and animation. The tutorial includes many useful examples, including standalone JavaFX programs and the integration of JavaFX into Swing-based applications. Running JavaFX 11 on Embedded Devices: Challenge Accepted!

46:17
José Pereda, Software Engineer, Gluon Johan Vos, CTO, Gluon BVBA Starting with JDK 11, JavaFX has become available as a separate download, decoupled from the core JDK. Different bundles of JavaFX 11 can be downloaded for different platforms. When it comes to embedded devices, where JavaFX hasn’t been supported, the challenge is getting the native binaries for the ARM platform in the first place. This session explains how to get started with JavaFX 11 on embedded devices such as the Raspberry Pi and showcases the successful story of a Belgian project in which a Pi was used in kiosks as an autonomous check-in device for handling passes for cultural events.
