How I make money while traveling the world (and eating)

05:45
►How to Start a Travel Blog: https://migrationology.com/how-to-start-a-travel-blog/ ►How to Make Money While Traveling: https://migrationology.com/how-to-make-money-while-traveling/ The number one question I get asked is how I can afford to travel, while making money, and blogging. I'm going to answer how I make money, and also how I can afford to travel and eat in this video. Also, I'll share how I think you can do it too! There are many many ways to make money while traveling, and I have friends that are working on cruise ships, blogging, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, and even skydiving, while earning money to be able to maintain a lifestyle traveling. But instead of sharing all the ways on how to make money traveling, I'll first share the ways I make money. First I want to say that all of these ways that I make money while traveling are all the result of initially starting a blog back in 2009 and committing to writing quality and useful information on it on a regular basis. If you want to make money while traveling, I'd highly recommend you start a blog on whatever you're passionate about and begin blogging high quality useful information to show your expertise, and also connecting with others. (If you're just starting a travel blog, Travel Blog Success is an excellent course that I recommend: https://travelblogsuccess.com/?ref=18 [affiliate]) 1. Affiliate recommendations - This basically means earning a small commission as a referral. There are many companies (places like Amazon and Agoda.com for hotels) that offer a commission if you refer someone to a purchase. As an example, on my website I give away a lot of free useful tips about visiting Bangkok (http://migrationology.com/bangkok-thailand-travel-guide/). And I also recommend a few hotels which, some of which I've previously stayed at, and others which I've just visit and highly recommend. So if you were to click one of the links and book that hotel, I would get a small commission as a referral. I only recommend things that I use myself or trust. 2. My premium travel and food guides - The biggest way I make money while traveling is by selling my premium travel and food guides (http://migrationology.com/travel-guides/). Right now I have the Bangkok 101 things to do guide, Eating Thai Food Guide, Vegetarian Thai Food Guide, and the Delhi travel guide, and I'm working on more. I prefer to sell my own guides than doing advertising on my website, because I can trust in the quality of my own guides. 3. Freelance writing - As a result of first starting my travel blog back in 2009, I've had the opportunity to do numerous freelance writing projects, some big and some small. I've written for a few inflight magazines, as well as CNN Travel, and various other newspapers, magazines, and websites. I used to dislike writing, but the more I started blogging about thing I really enjoyed (like food) the more I enjoyed it. And after committing to it and blogging, I've been able to connect with so many others and had chances to write for many places. A blog is a great way for you to have a public profile of your expertise. 4. Video, YouTube - Finally, the fourth way of how I make money while traveling and blogging is through videos. I made the decision to start making videos and I have committed to it. Ads on some of my videos is another chunk of my monthly income. Along with how to make money while traveling and blogging, it's also important to say how I can afford to travel? Most of the money my wife and I make now goes back into our traveling and eating. However, it's all about your priorities. We don't own a car and pay for gas, and instead we choose to buy plane tickets and eat street food. You have to set your own goals and priorities and live intentionally to pursue them. Mentioned in the video: My travel guides: http://migrationology.com/travel-guides/ My travel resources: http://migrationology.com/travel-resources/ Learn to make a succesful travel blog (especially recommended if you're starting out): https://travelblogsuccess.com/?ref=18 [affiliate] Getting a job on a cruise ship: https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=875328&c=ib&aff=168630&cl=120607 [affiliate] (Some things listed here, if you invest in it, I will get a commission, but these are all things I personally stand behind and recommend) Music in this video courtesy of Audio Network Get my FREE street food guide: http://wp.me/Psd9b-4pl Follow my adventures on http://migrationology.com/blog & http://www.eatingthaifood.com/blog/ Again, be sure to check out these two posts: ►How you can make money while traveling: http://migrationology.com/2014/02/how-to-make-money-while-traveling/ ►How to start a travel blog (or a blog about anything you want): http://migrationology.com/2015/04/how-to-start-a-travel-blog/

Gangtok to Lachen Food & Travel Journey North Sikkim | Episode 4

23:31
This is day 4 of our Sikkim travel. North sikkim has so many waterfalls, such a beautiful journey. North Sikkim is one of the places to visit in Sikkim Clouds, waterfalls, calm place and so much more during this journey, we also enjoyed amazing brunch at one of the food joints. If you want to support this channel, please visit: https://www.patreon.com/visa2explore Details of places visited by us is given below: Distance between Gangtok to Lachen North Sikkim 135 Km 1.Naamsingh WaterFall 2. Seven Sisters Waterfall Samosa ₹10 & Tea ₹10 nearby to this Waterfall 3. We bought some Vegetables from Local Vegetable Shop for our onward journey, as advised by our Driver, you will not get these in Lachen. If you want to have Traditional food you can bought some Vegetables. 4. Country BA & Restaurant: They are really good on traditional food. Every food we had at this place was lifetime experience. If you enjoy traditional food then this is a great place... Fooding & Lodging Address - Tingchim Zero, North Sikkim, Opp. IInd Last Petrol Pump of North Sikkim Traditional Meal - ₹ 250 Contact number - 9002774881, 9647853099, There is no telecom network at this place so these numbers may not be of much help.. 5. Singhik View Point, Mangan You will get to see beautiful scenic view from this point. We went there in Monsoon weather we could not see the Mt. Kanchenjunga, otherwise from this point, Mount kanchenjunga can be seen clearly. We did this journey through a local travel agency, its name is Tamu travels… Lalit is the owner: Tamu Tour and travels Development area, Gangtok east Sikkim. http://www.tamutourandtreks.com/ 9832564013 9002069916. This journey from Gangtok to North Sikkim then west and south Sikkim for us was about 7 nights and 8 days.. It costed us Rs 35k… 35k is only for taxi for 8 days. Other costs are extra. This 8 day journey is for North, south and west Sikkim. We paid Rs 2500 for taxi per day in Gangtok, that was for 8 hours.. they charge extra if you hire beyond 8 hours.. we virtually ended up paying about Rs 3300 to 3500 per day for local sight seeing bcoz we had taxi with full for full day early morning to late evening. This complete complete journey from Gangtok to Lachen in North sikkim took us about 13 hours…. Reason it took time was bcoz we stopped for food, shoot took time plus every 30 minutes we took break to see and enjoy the beauty… If you want to plan this journey, i will suggest you to get your bookings done properly because it involves permit. We did this journey during last week of June 2018, which is an off season time… Important note for this journey: Avoid rainy season. Travel in either feb or March or in oct and nov to enjoy sikkim the most. Check with your travel agent on the fact whether can travel to North sikkim or not because some of the routes are closed because of snow. Cost for minimum low cost travel two and a half days in Gangtok will be about Rs 11000 - details in description of previous episodes of Gangtok: Taxi cost for travel to North or other regions of Sikkim: Rs 3500 per day, for certain cost moment you are 2 people cost goes high. for example i have put 400 fare from siliguri to Gangtok for one person so you have to adjust if you are two. Food Rs 1500 hotel: Rs 2000 For every day that you travel in Sikkim minimum cost will be Rs 7000. North sikkim i don't think you can travel by bus, i am not sure, suggest check with some one else...but yes you can travel to other districts of sikkim by bus, check details with tourism office in MG marg Gangtok for details. MG marg is the place which is heart of Gangtok, try taking a hotel near MG marg. Sikkim is over all expensive, so be sure on costs bcoz your budgets can over shoot, especially if you are going in peak season. Cost that you are see are of off season, during season every thing is atleast 30 percent higher on cost... If you have any experience of sikkim travel, do share that in comments below. I would look forward to hear back from you in this regard. Thanks Harish bali

TSENA’NY TANTSAHA TALATAMATY: Rice Porridge + Chinese Noodle Soup ADDRESS: Talatamaty City OPEN: 3AM - 7AM (or whenever the police shut it down) Four miles outside of Madagascar’s capital city, Antananarivo, lies Talatamaty City. Talatamaty City is home to one of the country’s largest local morning markets, Tsena’ny Tantsaha. Sellers open up shop at 3am, selling everything from produce to fabrics. And lucky for us, the market has no shortage of food to try as well. 🥣RICE PORRIDGE: Zebu (Malagasy cattle) and sausage are mixed with leaves, ginger, special Malagasy rice, porridge and spices. 🥡CHINESE NOODLE DISH: Pasta, macaroni, potato, mayonnaise and zebu skin. ---- 2. TALATA VOLON’ONDRY: Sausage + Koba ADDRESS: Talata Volon’ondry OPEN: Varies Talata Volon’ondry is a village located just outside of Antananarivo. The village is known for producing sausage and Madagascar’s national snack, koba. 🥔SAUSAGE: There are typically two types of sausage being sold - zebu sausage and a halal style potato sausage. This snack is frequently accompanied by local rum. 🇲🇬KOBA: Lay out banana leaf spines with banana leaves on top. Add a layer of rice flour to prevent the koba mixture from sticking to the banana leaves. Then add the koba mixture, a combination of crushed raw peanuts and sugar. Wrap it all up in the banana leaves and allow it to cook in a bit of water for 3 days. Koba is beloved across Madagascar, primarily sold on the street or to people in their cars as they drive through a city. The fuel from the ingredients gives people energy and helps them stay full even when walking long distances without and source of food along the way. 💸PRICE: Sausage .14 USD/500 MGA | Koba .50 USD/1,756 MGA - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 💬COME SAY HI: INSTAGRAM » http://bit.ly/BestEverInstagram (@besteverfoodreviewshow) FACEBOOK » http://bit.ly/BEFRSFacebook 💗SUPPORT OUR MISSION: Patreon is a platform that allows people to support creators on a recurring basis. Village Cambodian Food - AMAZING Cooking Curry Over Fire in Kampong Cham | Travel in Cambodia!

Subscribe for more videos► http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe T-shirts for sale here► https://migrationology.com/store/ During my trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I was looking to visit a village nearby to do some cooking and eating and learn about the culture. So after doing some research, I came across OBT Chiro Village in Kampong Cham, not too far away from Phnom Penh. Although by distance it was quite close, because the roads are not fantastic, it takes about 2 hours to arrive. We arrived at about 8 am. The OBT Chiro Village is sponsored by a local Cambodian NGO that educates and empowers children in the village. And they have helped to bring electricity and running water to the village, that sits along the banks of the Mekong River, not far from Kampong Cham, Cambodia. We were greeted by our host family, and as soon as we arrived, we headed over to the main Kampong Cham market to do some shopping for the Cambodian food cooking we were going to do. The market was fantastic, huge, but friendly, and stocked full of fresh ingredients and lots and lots of fruit. The prices were so cheap as well. We bought many of the supplies we needed. After a fully loaded tuk tuk ride back to Chiro Village to start cooking! Along with a couple of different Cambodian dishes, the main dish the family cooked was Khmer curry, a mixture of spices and herbs, pounded into a paste, and cooked along with coconut milk and both pork and chicken. The curry was not very spicy, but had a wonderful lemongrass flavor, and the fresh coconut milk was fantastic. It was a great experience, and we had an amazing time cooking, eating, and visiting with the host family. Thank you! Here’s how much I paid: Price - $22 USD per person for cooking and eating Roundtrip private taxi from Phnom Penh - $100 USD http://www.obtchiro.com/ -- Music in this video: Positronic Emotions https://goo.gl/HwVjdo MY CAMERA GEAR: Main camera: http://amzn.to/2dEL3hv Main lens: http://amzn.to/2e5Lum6 2nd camera: http://amzn.to/2mczuDx 2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2mcEGau Microphone: http://amzn.to/2dEr9Z9 Gorillapod: http://amzn.to/2epFsQx *These are Amazon affiliate links I would love to connect with you! Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!

35:23
Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market): https://goo.gl/VY6NjH SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe T-shirts and caps: https://goo.gl/6WdK1l Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide: https://goo.gl/5MHgz4 I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day! Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide: https://goo.gl/5MHgz4 Sadiq Halwa Puri (https://goo.gl/maps/Yoy9dJ6steF2) - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry. Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78) Chacha Feeka Lassi (https://goo.gl/maps/RGQBRQaNj8p) - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi. Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan. Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice. Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore. Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi. Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37) Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack. Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner. Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84) Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy. Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99) Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible. Total price - 390 PKR ($2.91) Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry. Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything. It’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and it’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life. Finally, along with my friend David (https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/) and Rafram, we explored Jerusalem to discover the food treasures the city has to offer - and let me tell you, you’ll find some incredibly delicious food in Jerusalem! We started off the Jerusalem food tour by first walking around East Jerusalem and starting with the best plate of hummus I’ve ever had. We then toured around Old Jerusalem, and enjoyed some incredible Palestinian food kebabs cooked by an incredible man who cooked with serious love and passion. Another highlight in Jerusalem was the mutabak, a thin pastry stuffed with cheese and baked. After eating our way through Old Jerusalem, we then headed into West Jerusalem and went to lunch at an Israeli Jewish restaurant serving a mix of amazing dishes. The food was home-cooked in style, and absolutely sensation. A few more snacks and sightseeing throughout the afternoon, and that brought us all the way to dinner where David had made reservations to eat at one of the hottest restaurants in Jerusalem, Machneyuda Restaurant. It was quite an experience, and an amazing meal and lively atmosphere to wrap up this ultimate Jerusalem food tour. Here’s all the food and places included in this Palestinian food and Israeli food tour of Jerusalem: Hummus Acramawi Price - 20 ILS ($5.57) per plate Almond juice - 3.90 ILS ($1.09) Al-shuala Grill Restaurant Shawarma - 26 ILS ($7.26) Al Baghdadi Kabab Palestinian kebabs Total price - 100 ILS ($27.89) Zalatimo Sweets Mutabak Price - 30 ILS ($8.37) each Peaches - 10 for 1 kg Plums - 10 for 1 kg Fruit - 10 ILS ($2.76) per kg. Mahane Yehuda Market Azura Restaurant Total price - 400 ILS ($111.55) Western Wall (Wailing Wall) Western Wall Tunnel Price - 35 ILS ($9.76) per person Dome of the Rock Mount of Olives Machneyuda Restaurant Total price - 700 ILS ($195.21) It was a lot of food in a single day, but it was one of the greatest food and learning days that I’ve ever had in my life. The generosity of the people we connected with, paired with the food, was truly a memorable experience in Jerusalem. Thank you again to David (https://www.instagram.com/the.hungry.tourist/) and Rafram for showing me some of the best food in Jerusalem! - MUSIC in This Video: Souls of Time, Arabian Feast - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo CAMERA GEAR used to make this video (these are affiliate links): GH5: http://amzn.to/2sV0XQO Main lens: http://amzn.to/2szLZNf 2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2mcEGau Microphone: http://amzn.to/2rBKD3z Tripod: http://amzn.to/2rBFkkI I would love to connect with you! I have to admit, I going to multiple back to back restaurants to eat German food is a challenge - German food is so hearty and so filling. By the end of this food tour in Munich, I was ready to sleep immediately! Here are all the details about the restaurants and prices of the dishes I ate: 1. Andy's Krablergarten Andy's Krablergarten is known for their schnitzel, and they serve it up in a huge way. The cutlets are made from pork, and they are big and fried fresh. I tried a Hamburg schnitzel with eggs and a Munich style schnitzel with horseradish in the breading. It was fantastic. Address: Thalkirchner Str. 2, 80337 München, Germany Price: 10.90 EUR per schnitzel 2. Andechser am Dom This is a nice German food restaurant, located on the side of Munich Frauenkirche, a major landmark in the heart of Munich. They serve a variety of traditional German Bavarian cuisine. My favorite dish was the mixed sausage plate, but the leberkäse was also good. Address: Weinstraße 7A, 80333 München, Germany Total price: 36.30 EUR 3. Ice cream at Schuhbeck's Eissalon Address: Pfisterstraße 11, 80331 München, Germany 4. Bergwolf Bergwolf is a German fast food restaurant in Munich, and their speciality is currywurst, a plate of sausage topped in sauce and fries. It’s not the healthiest of all German dishes, but it sure tastes pretty amazing - one of those 3 am kind of dishes. Address: Fraunhoferstraße 17, 80469 München, Germany Price: 5.40 EUR 5. Augustiner Bräustuben Augustiner Bräustuben is a classic German brewery and restaurant in Munich, Germany. You’ll find some very classic Bavarian dishes on their menu and a good selection of beer. Address: Landsberger Str. 19, 80339 München, Germany Total price: 24.25 EUR Thank you for watching this German food tour of Munich. I hope it will provide you with some tips on where to eat amazing German food when you’re in Munich! - Music in this video: Roadtrip Through Europe, Volksmusiker - https://goo.gl/HwVjdo MY CAMERA GEAR: Main camera: http://amzn.to/2dEL3hv Main lens: http://amzn.to/2e5Lum6 2nd camera: http://amzn.to/2mczuDx 2nd lens: http://amzn.to/2mcEGau Microphone: http://amzn.to/2dEr9Z9 Gorillapod: http://amzn.to/2epFsQx *These are Amazon affiliate links I would love to connect with you!
