The Maxxis and Schwalbe debate is one that seems to never go away. Because tires are such a crucial part of any bike, picking the right ones for your terrain and riding style are key for riders seeking to gain more performance out of their bike. When shopping for tires to handle aggressive, rocky, and steep riding, the Maxxis Minion DHF and Schwalbe Magic Mary are at the top of the list. Available in multiple sizes, compounds, and widths, both tires are world cup ready and arguably two of the best on the market. Schwalbe Magic Mary & Hans Dampf Tire Combo Review This is a review of a mountain biking tire combination, which consists of a Shwalbe Magic Mary on the front, and a Shwalbe Hans Dampf on the rear. Although a popular combination, when shopping I struggled to really find any reviews that gave me a good idea of what to expect from these tires. If you have any questions or criticism, please leave a comment. Thanks for watching. I hope this was helpful.

Tyres can be one of the best upgrades you can make to your bike, but it can be hard finding which one to choose. Thankfully our tech writer extraordinaire Seb Stott has spent countless hours testing ten of the burliest offerings from different brands to find out which is the best. Today we talk some about enduro styled tire combos! We look at the Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 and Maxxis Aggressor 2.3, The Schwalbe Magic Mary 2.35 and Nobby Nic 2.35, and the Specialized Butcher 2.3 and Slaughter 2.3. These tires all fall into the enduro tire category because they have solid tread for rough or technical terrain, but also arent too heavy for longer climbs or more pedal heavy riding. They're great combos for enduro and all mountain riding! After looking at them I tell you out of all the combos i've run which has been my favorite enduro mountain bike tire. Hope this offers some help in anyone looking to make their next mountain bike tire decision! Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe for more videos each week, see you in the next one! With so many rear tire options available, picking the right one for your bike and riding conditions can be a bit overwhelming. When the Maxxis Aggressor came out we fell in love because of how versatile it was and because it was available in DoubleDown casing. The tire bridges the gab between your typical trail tire and heavy duty downhill tire. Available in a bunch of sizes, compounds, and two casing options, the Aggressor has quickly become the rear tire of choice for riders like Richie Rude who ran it on his way to winning two EWS Championships. In this video, we do a quick overview of the Maxxis Aggressor and highlight what makes it such a popular rear tire. Nobby Nic on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1RhKq9S Stan's No Tubes Sealant on Amazon: http://amzn.to/27NFBRx My rear Nobby Nic mountain bike tire had about 900 miles on it and hadn't been replaced in more than 18 months! So I ordered a new one and made a video about installing new tubeless mountain bike tires. The install always takes some effort and never goes smoothly for me. This time around I realized I should be pinching the tires into the center channel of the wheel and also should have the valve stem pushed in about half way so the tires can fit in around it. My wheels are Easton EA70 XCT. I used one scoop of Stan's NoTubes sealant, which is about 1/4 cup if you don't have a scoop. The one thing I missed in the video was that the Nobby Nic are DIRECTIONAL! I only realized after I installed them and I got the 50/50 coin flip right. I took my bike out for a quick downhill lap and made my fastest time on the Sugar City Trail in the Crockett Hills: https://www.strava.com/activities/583796707/segments/14200676809 My video gear: http://bit.ly/bkxcgear

Read Vital's Review of the Assegai - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/We-Ride-Greg-Minnaars-Maxxis-Tire-The-Assegai,2301 Designed by World Champion downhiller Greg Minnaar, the Maxxis Assegai is a predictable, heavy-duty mountain bike tire that is suited for aggressive, descent-oriented riding. It's available in 27.5 and 29-inch diameters with 2.5-inch widths. Right now, DH casing is all that's available and at 1320g, our 29-inch version was not light. It did, however, provide extreme stability and traction when the terrain got fast and rough. The downside was the weight penalty and slow rolling characterstics on the way up. If you're looking to turn your trail or enduro bike into a descent-specific machine, the Maxxis Assegai could be the ticket. Retail price is $90 USD.

I've been running these tires for the past 1-2 years on my trail/enduro bikes, and all I can say is: "Why would you run another tire??" This combo works so well in 90% of the conditions I ride in. This combo is the best tire combo I have found for Grip vs. Rolling resistance. They roll super fast and still offer all the grip I need! I will tell you that if you run this combo, you will not be disappointed! Trying to see if 27.5 x 2.6 will fit on a standard 27.5 mountain bike. I'd put smaller tires on my Rocky Mt. Sherpa if it didn't lower the bottom bracket which is already too low, however I make a mistake... Going from 2.8 to 2.6 tires will drop your bottom bracket by .2 inches, not .4. It decreases the circumference by .4, but it's the radius that matters. Still, I don't want my bottom bracket dropping at all. Oh - and OMG are my wheels HEAVY!!!!! I never dreamed they weighed so much. Good grief. I think 45mm rims are overkill, don't need to be that wide. Not sure if 2.8 tires are too big yet since I can't try 2.6's.

Could the Maxxis Minion DHR 2 be the best plus tire ever made? What about the best MTB tire of 2018?! I have desired a high volume tire with low rolling resistance that really hooks up when braking. Does the Maxxis Minion DHR2 29x3.0 meet all these criteria? Find out what I liked or didn't like by watching the whole video. I also give recommendations for different 29 plus tire combinations for front and rear, depending on the terrain you ride and your riding style. The Maxxis Minion DHR2 is a little heavier than other 29x3 tires at 1114 grams and it measures 2.955 inches wide at the tread, 2.98 inches wide at the casing on a Duroc 50 rim that is 46mm wide. ................................................. Does tyre choice impact on battery usage, watts and power delivery on a hard ride out on your E MTB? We've got a suspicion that it does, so we sent Steve out on a well known loop with some hard and soft compound tyres to see the effects. Subscribe: http://embn.me/subscribenow Our shop: http://embn.me/3f We chose tyres from the same manufacturer for this test, purely to erase the possibility that one company's 'hard' tire isn't far off the other company's 'soft' tyre. Rolls with what feels like 20-30% less effort with the lighter 2.6" Smart Sam tires and dropped almost 2 pounds of weight. In my opinion the 2.6 tires are a good move which keeps the attributes of 2.8/3.0 tires with the greater air volume and added traction but now this bike just pedals better on hard surfaces. Specialized offers their 30mm width 27.5 rimmed version of this Stumpjumper alongside to their fattie tire 3.0/2.8 version with 38mm width rims. Someday here in near future I'm going to look at buying Stans aluminum 29" rims with 2.4" tires. Got a $400 credit from bike shop because 3 weeks later this bike went on holiday sale because they sent me the email. When I mentioned the time span, they honored my request. So I bought this Expert version for $4K. That's a pretty good deal.

With a nod to the success of the Butcher tires in downhill competition, Specialized built this exceptional tread into a tire for all-mountain riders. The Specialized Butcher Grid 2Bliss Tire excels in the gnarliest terrain, with fast-rolling, ramped center knobs and corner-biting shoulder knobs. Updated sawtooth-edges on the center knobs and inside of the cornering knobs add control and precision when leaning the Butcher to transition to the shoulder knobs.

I had the Gopro Hero 5 black with the Karma Grip... but the sound was horrible, and the karma grip was inconsistent in its stabilization performance.
