Dr. Jordan Peterson - How to read and understand anything

02:23
Jordan Peterson is asked the question how should one take notes from books and lectures. 1) don't write notes while the lecture is taking place. so, you can practice the ability to retain and recall information. 2) when reading books don't highlight or underline. read a bit of the material. then, write down what you are thinking or what you remember in the context of what you are thinking about. Jordan Peterson explains how he is able to extemporaneously come out with his subject matter during a lecture When he reads he marks interesting ideas mentally then figures out how they relate to all the other ideas he knows. do I believe it? how might I criticize it? It is this method that enables you recall information because you make it apart of yourself. So, separate the actions of reading and note taking. Read, write, Think or Read, Think, and reformulate the sentence

Concept of Object Oriented programming in C++ lecture, BCA, MCA by Dhanesh Gupta

03:59
In Object Oriented programming the emphasis is on data rather than on procedure. Programs are divided into objects , Data is hidden and can't be accessed by external design. The main concept are . • Object:- Objects are identified by its unique name. An object represents a particular instance of a class. There can be more than one instance of a class. • Class:- Class a blueprint for an object. This doesn't actually define any data, but it does define what the class name means, that is, what an object of the class will consist of and what operations can be performed on such an object. No memory is allocated when a class is created. • Data Encapsulation:- Data Encapsulation combines data and functions into a single unit called Class. Data Encapsulation enables the important concept of data hiding possible. • Data Abstraction:- Data abstraction refers to, providing only essential information and hiding their background details . • Inheritance:- Inheritance is the process of forming a new class from an existing class that is from the existing class called as base class, new class is formed called as derived class. • Polymorphism:- The ability to use an operator or function in different ways in other words giving different meaning or functions to the operators or functions is called polymorphism.

C Programming Tutorial 1 - Intro to C

Get the notes: https://www.calebcurry.com/c-programming-notes/ C Programming Crash Course - https://www.learn.calebcurry.com/p/c-programming-crash-course This is your series on C programming and computer science for beginners. If you are completely new to C, this series is for you! What is C? C is an example of a programming language. What is a programming language? Essentially, we as humans want to communicate with a computer to tell it to do something or to compute something for us, but computers don't understand English, they only understand machine code. Machine code is a sequence of ones and zeros that the computer's processor can understand. This allows us to tell the processor to do simple instructions. The problem is that writing software in machine code is very complex and very error prone. A programming language is something humans can understand that can also be understood by computers. The computer doesn't understand the language directly, but what we tell the computer to do in a programming language is translated to something the computer's processor can understand. C is very good programming language to learn. In fact, it was one of the first really well established programming languages and is one of the most popular languages used today. Many other programming languages are based off of the beauty of C. You may have heard of C++, C#, Objective C, Java…These all have similarities with C. Learning C helps you learn how to become a better software developer. When we communicate to a program in C, we essentially create a file where we type all of our commands. The stuff we write in this file is called code, or source code. When you can read C, this code makes sense. But the code cannot be read by the computer, it still has to be translated for the computer to understand. This process of translation is called compiling. How do we compile code? We use a special software known as a compiler. We hand the source code file to the compiler and it outputs the compiled version of the code and stores that in another file. Think of the compiler as the translator between us humans and the computer. So we write code in a file (you can think of it as just a text file), and then we compile this code into what is known as a program, or software. Once we have a program, we can run or execute the program and it will start doing the things we originally asked the computer to do when we were writing our code. This is the very basics. The more you study, the more you will see how beautiful and fun computer science can be. Enjoy this content? Try another series! How to learn to code (quickly and easily!)

Ex-Google tech lead Patrick Shyu explains how to learn to code quickly and easily, with this one weird trick! It's so simple with this 1-step program! 👇 SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL 👇 http://youtube.com/techlead?sub_confirmation=1 Are you looking to hack into the mainframe, bypassing the system security lock to gain root access into the private kernel? Well, if I can do it, so can you! * ABOUT SITTING: It is highly unhealthy to sit for long periods of time. I always get up and take a short break every 30 minutes. Note though that even with breaks, it is known that long periods of general inactivity will put your body to sleep and you need to take longer walks/jogs throughout the day to keep up a healthy metabolism. Architecture Short Course: How to Develop a Design Concept

19:24
All architecture begins with a concept. If you’re struggling to find one, curious about what one is, or wondering how architects begin their projects; this short course will walk you through the process I use and some of the techniques I rely on to develop architectural concepts all illustrated with one of my residential projects. Design is a dialogue, and the concept ensures you have something to talk about. In this video I discuss the precise steps I take when beginning each project and how those steps lead me to an architectural concept. Before we can develop the concept, we have to first understand the practical constraints. My design process begins only after gathering and assessing all the given parameters for a project. Now, this primarily consists of three types of information. There’s information derived from the site - things like: local climate, the prevailing winds, the solar aspect, vegetation, neighboring structures, the site’s history, and any unique liabilities or opportunities. The site of course also comes along with legal frameworks for development, which describe where and what we can and can’t build. The second type of information we’ll gather is from the client. Every client has a set of cultural beliefs and preconceptions, preferences and agendas. Of course, we’ll want to determine their budget, and understand the personality traits and organizational politics which might also shape the design. The client and the building type together determine what architects call, “the program” which is essentially a detailed accounting of all the spaces the building will contain. And the third type of information I gather is related to the building typology – is it a museum, a home…or a school for example? To learn about a building typology we often conduct an analysis of notable or relevant historical precedents. We want to know the essential problems these types of structures grapple with. Understanding the history of the archetype allows us to approach a problem from a fresh perspective. All of this is necessary information that we collect for every project. This inventory can also serve as the progenitor for the design concept – our seed idea. And, rather than shunting creativity, these constraints often incite the creative process. Concept Inspirations Discussed: - Site - Client - Narrative - Materials - Structural - Mainifestos - Formal As with a good film, the setting, the characters, the cinematography, and the plot all conspire to make it what it is. It’s the experience you’ll recall rather than the concept per se. Sure, the concept sets the film in motion and it’s the starting point for all that follows. But this concept – the one or two-line description – can’t possible capture the richness and depth of the finished film…or in our case the architecture. Yet without it, the work is unfulfilling and so it should be clear that the concept is necessary for all our work as architects. // GEAR I USE // DSLR CAMERA: * Canon 70D: http://amzn.to/29klz7k LENSES: * Canon 24mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29l7ac5 * Canon 40mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29x2QcI AUDIO: * Rode VideoMic Pro (hotshoe mtd.): http://amzn.to/29qlNM3 * ATR-2100 USB (dynamic mic): http://amzn.to/2dFDaKp ARCHITECTURE GEAR: * Prismacolor Markers: http://thirtybyforty.com/markers * Timelapse Camera: http://thirtybyforty.com/brinno * AutoCAD LT: http://amzn.to/2dxjMDH * SketchUp PRO: http://amzn.to/2cRcojz * HP T120 Plotter: http://amzn.to/2dBGf1O * Adobe CC Photography (Photoshop/Lightroom) Plan: http://amzn.to/2dhq5ap STARTUP TOOLKIT: * Architect + Entrepreneur Startup Toolkit: http://thirtybyforty.com/SPL -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Architectural IDEAS (Thesis, Inspiration + Precedent)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqpizO414ck -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Despite its increasing popularity, functional programming is still stuck in the back seat when it comes to the enterprise. This talk aims to address common pitfalls in enterprise software engineering which can be avoided through the application of functional programming principles, as well as to introduce the clarity and maintainability inherent to functional code. In this talk, we will cover computational effects including failure handling, IO and partiality using various functors and monads. We will also explore the "softer" side of teaching and advocating for FP at work, including strategies for coaching teammates off of imperative and side-effect ridden coding practices.

It definitely has a sexy tone to it right? Project… I just love the way it sounds. I wonder how cool it must sound in French. Proje… Well, project is a temporary endeavor to create a unique solution. Yeah that’s operations. No Well, the difference between a project and operations is fairly simple. A project ends. So, it’s temporary. You implement your project, you close it, you create a unique product/service/ or whatever outcome you wanted then you are done. Whereas in operations, it’s on-going and repetitive. You may have also heard about the terms program and portfolio. Let me just quickly explain them here. Program is multiple projects put together. Combined. And Portfolio is similarly. Multiple programs put together. So, it’s project, program, portfolio. Now before I go further, and dive deep. You need to understand something crucial. To run any project, you need 2 methodologies. The first one is a project life cycle and the second one is project management process. Most people confuse these 2. And if these are not clear, you can kiss the PMP certification goodbye. It’s absolutely amazing how many content creators in YouTube confuse these two. They are not interchangeable. You cannot afford to confuse a project life cycle with a project management process. Don’t worry I am going to make it very simple for you. Let’s start with Project Life Cycle. Project Life Cycle is unique to a project, to an industry, to your needs. It’s highly customizable. Think of it like this; a human development is a project. So, your life cycle is; 1) Conceiving 2) Birth 3) Childhood 4) Teenage hood. Teenage hood. Is that a word? Teenaging? 5) Adulthood 6) And death Easy stuff right? So, now if it was an IT project. I am not an IT but it would like something like this; High-level design Detailed Design Coding Testing Installation And Turnover This is project life cycle. The term cycle is a bit confusing here. I think. But who knows. This video covers; project management project management institute pmp project management professional certification project life cycle project management PMI managing a project project management fundamentals fundamentals of project management project management for beginners project management course

Design Principles From Functional Programming with Runar Bjarnason

41:32
Visit our website https://softwaredaily.com Functional programming can improve the overall design of an application architecture. Runar Bjarnason has been exploring how writing in a functional style increases modularity and compositionality of software for many years. He is co-author of Functional Programming in Scala, a book that explores the relationship between functional programming and software design. In this interview with guest host Adam Bell, Runar explains how writing in a functional style involves limiting side effects, avoiding exceptions and using higher order abstractions. Writing in this style places constraints on what a module in a software system may do, but by constraining modules in this way, the software modules themselves become endlessly composable.   Show Notes Functional Programming In Scala Constraints Liberate, Liberties Constrain Transcript Transcript provided by We Edit Podcasts. Phase Locked Loop Tutorial | PLL Basics

06:34
Phase locked loops are used in many radio frequency of RF systems. Phase locked loops are used in radios, as FM detectors as well as within frequency synthesizers that form the local oscillator within radio receivers. These and very many other applications mean that phase locked loops, PLLs are a key building block within a variety of radio and RF systems. A phase locked loop consists of a phase detector, voltage controlled oscillator and a loop filter as well as a reference signal source. Within the phase locked loop, the incoming reference hits the phase detector along with a signal from the PLL voltage controlled oscillator. A signal proportional to the phase difference between the two is generated and this is passed through a loop filter to remove unwanted signals. The resulting error signal is applied to the input of the voltage controlled oscillator with the effect that the phase between the reference and the VCO signals is reduced. Eventually a point is reached where a steady fixed phase difference exists. At this point the phase lock loop is said to be in lock and the frequency of the reference and VCO are exactly the same. Using the basic phase locked loop, it is possible to achieve a wide variety of functions, but possibly they are most widely known for their use in frequency synthesizers. Here they enable a single highly stable frequency source to be used to generate a host of other frequencies, all with the same accuracy as the reference. This phase locked loop tutorial gives all the basics required for an understanding of PLL technology.
