PHILIPPINES BEST KEPT SECRET | PORT BARTON // 4K DRONE

11:42
PHILIPPINES BEST KEPT SECRET | PORT BARTON // TRAVEL VLOG 24 Port Barton Philippines was an absolute gem and is quite possibly one of the Philippines best kept secrets! It is a small tourist town between Puerto Princesa and El Nido. We had received a few recommendations that we should stop by and do some island hopping and snorkeling and it was one of our best days of travel yet! We stayed at Miguels AirBnB (next door to Jambalaya restaurant). It was 500 Pesos/night for a private room with a private bathroom. Next door at Jambalaya they have pretty good food, try the Mango shake, and garlic rice was delicious with the set breakfast. In town, there is a burger joint that makes a MASSIVE burger... try to eat it all if you can (although I didn't think the burgers were that great overall). Port of Iloilo, Philippines

05:00
Here is more video of what the Port of Iloilo has along both shores of the winding Iloilo River. There are a lot of vessels of all types here. Shipping boats to commercial construction vessels and ferry boats of several types. When I got here, there must have been 50 kids swimming in the river diving off of the banks and boats. With limited public swimming pools, these kids take advantage of the water which is brackish from the fresh water run-off from rains. Iloilo, Philippines

PHILIPPINES travel series - Port Barton | the most chilled spot in Palawan

06:57
PHILIPPINES travel series - Port Barton | the most chilled spot in Palawan Port Barton is just what the travel doctor ordered! Away from the crowds in El Nido, you can find this chilled beach spot 4 hours south by van. El Nido was fantastic - but it wasn’t what we were expecting and so we were quite anxious to find a spot that satisfied our imagination of the Philippines. Port Barton was just that place! The village is paradise - the beaches are clean, the people are some of the friendliest that we have ever met and overall, our four days there really was not enough. Be prepared though - going a little off the beaten track means that you will likely be without wifi for the duration of your stay unless you get a SIM card and also, the power in the village is virtually turned off during the day so make sure that you charge everything during the night. In October 2017, we quit our jobs in the UK so that we could travel the world and lead a life full of excitement and happiness. We asked ourselves one question - "What is the most amazing thing that we have done this year?”. It was difficult to answer, not because we had done lots, but because like many, we were leading a 9-5 lifestyle and living for the weekends. With that, the decision to pack our bags was a very easy one and so, off we went to our first stop - India. Every single day since we left has been truly amazing - experiencing different cultures, making new friends from all over the world and seeing the most beautiful sights imaginable. Our journeys were inspired by watching others on YouTube and so, we are extremely passionate about sharing ours with you. Subscribe here https://bit.ly/2kh34bK to keep up with our adventure 🌏

PORT BARTON Philippines Vlog #9

05:31
Untouched nature on Palawan Port Barton. We did an island tour to german island and paradise island. We saw green sea turtles and found nemo! :) So yeah, definitely a big recommendation if you want to see unspoiled nature without much tourism you should go to Port Barton. The town itself is not very developed, you won't find a big hotel and sometimes you won't have power or a hot shower, but you can get a beautiful bungalow right on the beach for 15$! We stayed at the Deep Moon Resort and I can highly recommend it. Ausan Beach Front Cottages is also nice. http://www.deepgoldresorts.com https://ausanbeachfront.com The van from Puerto Princesa takes 5 hours and the road is not very good but eventually you will make it there. If you are there you can do different island tours with a small boat. For 700php you will get a full day of exploring on a small boat for 8 people, snorkeling in untouched beautiful coral reef, diving is also very good there, and as you saw those little islands look like paradise from above. I hope that this place is going to stay just like it is, because i thought the town El Nido was very dirty and badly developed, which kind of ruined the island tour and whole experience there, so keep Port Barton a secret. Best Tour! What to see in Port Barton Philippines

09:01
Best Tour in Port Barton! What to see. On our second day in Port Barton, we continued exploring different islands in Port Barton. We visited a sandbar that locals call Starfish Island because of the many starfishes surrounding the sandbar. Then we went to a beautiful beach and walked a few minutes to reach a waterfall surrounded by a rainforest. It's like your own private pool in the middle of the jungle. The water is so cold! Next stop is in Paradise Island. This island is smaller but with clear blue waters. Our guide and boatman prepared a delicious lunch for us here. We had the whole island to ourselves and with a cute dog! Watch the full video to find out which best spots you should not miss when in Port Barton! 7th Fleet ships stop in the Philippines, a favorite port visit for sailors

7th Fleet ships stop in the Philippines, 'a favorite port visit for sailors’ SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOKOSUKA, Japan — The USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier and two Navy cruisers arrived in Manila on Tuesday after sailing through the South China Sea, the Associated Press reported. The Reagan is the third Navy carrier to transit the contentious waters this year following patrols by the USS Carl Vinson in February and the USS Theodore Roosevelt in April. China and the U.S. have clashed periodically over naval operations in the area. China, at odds with its neighbors over competing territorial claims, has been building military bases on reclaimed land and harassing ships in disputed waters. Last month, one of the cruisers accompanying the Reagan — the USS Antietam — and the San Diego-based USS Higgins drew the ire of Beijing when they came within 12 nautical miles of Chinese-claimed islets during a freedom of navigation patrol in the South China Sea. The U.S. uninvited the Chinese Navy from Rim of the Pacific exercises this year after Pentagon officials said they had “strong evidence” Beijing deployed anti-ship and surface-to-air missiles and electronic jammers to contested areas in the South China Sea. The Reagan and Antietam sailors along with personnel from the USS Chancellorsville will be volunteering at local hospitals and schools or going on Morale, Welfare and Recreation hiking, diving and snorkeling tours while they’re in the Philippines’ capital, according to a Navy news release. “Manila is one of the favorite port visits for sailors in the Pacific thanks to the beauty and welcoming people of the Philippines,” Rear Adm. Marc Dalton, commander of Task Force 70, said in the release. The Reagan, Antietam and Chancellorsville have been patrolling the Indo-Pacific region since leaving their home at Yokosuka in May. The warships recently finished Malabar 2018 with India and Japan near Guam. During the nine-day exercise in the Philippine Sea, the ships hosted liais... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Celebrating in Port Barton 🇵🇭 | Palawan | Philippines | Female Solo Traveler | TravelGretl

We’re exploring Port Barton (Palawan, Philippines) even further. Finishing the island hopping tour, visiting the sea turtles at Secret Paradise Resort and celebrating foundation day. This video is part of my 2017 Philippines series. Female solo traveling - yes baby! For part I of this video: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=Laz-SwVvI5U To find Jeremy, I created a business FB page for him: https://www.facebook.com/portbartontours/?hc_location=ufi Check it out, show him some love :D MORE INFO check our website: http://www.travelgretl.com/destinations/asia/philippines/port-barton-pearl-palawan/ LET'S CONNECT FACEBOOK: http://facebook.com/travelgretl BUSINESS RELATED QUESTIONS travelgretl[at]gmail[dot]com - Text in the video: Well first of all, we have a tour to finish! Let me show you more of the beautiful surroundings, of Port Barton. In all the trips I made to the Philippines, there has always been one thing I missed out on. So Jeremy is determined to show me… It takes some time to find them. But then… yes! Meeting the sea turtles definitely touched me. But no time to linger! We’re off for what seems to be the smallest island of Palawan. No palmtrees. But the attraction here is under water. Though it might seem they are just laying still, look what happens when I speed up the clip. All in all a great end of the tour. Well Port Barton doesn’t receive as many tourists as El Nido, but still new spots are popping up. Like Gorgonzola! My favorite restaurant in Palawan. They got some really nice healthy food, but also…. Well, check it out yourself! Next day I am still thinking about the turtles. They can live for decades, but how would their life begin? Let’s find out! Secret Paradise Resort was built in a little bay. Loved by Humans, and turtles. Mothers lay their eggs on the beach, and the resorts protects them with nets. No monitor lizard will get his claws on these. It’s always a surprise when they’ll be hatching, but it might be one of these days! Well we have to wait till it’s dark. Let’s take a look at some of the older ones first. After the turtles are born, they get some time in here. To grow, and survive the long way to the ocean. Only the caretakers, with really clean hands, are allowed to touch them. Oooh, look at him! I cross my fingers for some of the eggs hatching this night. But you’ll never know for sure… The only thing we can do is get off to bed, and wait… There has been all kind of life this night, but no baby turtles. Ah, it’s ok. After all, that’s the beauty of nature! And back in town there is still something to surprise me. Who knew I would end up in the middle of a celebration? Well, I didn’t! Everyone looks amazing…. It seems like the whole village and surroundings are here to celebrate. Including me of course! Jeremy explains a bit about what’s happening. And then there is also this dancing competition! Aah, well I see them all trying their best in front of the judges. And they have to do so for quite a long time! I can imagine you’d get exhausted at some point, so it’s good there’s food. For everyone! Also the toursts are invited. And after lunch and a lot of dancing, it’s time for the cooling down. - Music: Hello by Joakim Karud Tropical Love Original Mix by Joakim Karud http://youtube.com/joakimkarud Concerto Grosso op6 no 4 by advent chamber orchestra http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Advent_Chamber_Orchestra/Selections_from_the_2005-2006_Season/Advent_Chamber_Orchestra_-_09_-_Corelli_-_Concerto_Grosso_Op6_no4 CC BY SA Scully reel. Port Barton, nr. 1 spot in Palawan, Philippines 🇵🇭 | 2017 Full HD | by TravelGretl

This week I'm off to one of my favorite places in this world, it's Port Barton in Palawan, Philippines. It's serene, laid back, there is a lot to see and do (island hopping, waterfalls) and some of the most friendly people live here! Keep in mind the Filipino's are already friendly in general, so can you even imagine ;) Big love and thumbs up for Port Barton! To find Jeremy, I created a business FB page for him: https://www.facebook.com/portbartontours/?hc_location=ufi Check it out, show him some love :D MORE INFO check our website: http://www.travelgretl.com/destinations/asia/philippines/port-barton-pearl-palawan/ LET'S CONNECT FACEBOOK: http://facebook.com/travelgretl BUSINESS RELATED QUESTIONS travelgretl[at]gmail[dot]com - The road from El Nido to Port Barton already brings back a lot of memories. Especially the slippery dirtroads. I’m glad not everything has changed yet. And then we arrive! After a short check in at the local tourism office, I’m good to go. Ready for one of my favorite places in this world! Of course we can’t visit Port Barton, without saying hi to my favorite guide, so…. Yeah, of course I remember the picture. We wanted a way to say thank you to those we shared great memories with! And… Well, sounds like a plan! During my time in Palawan it has been raining on and off. But hey, if you’re gonna get wet anyway… The biggest waterfall around Port Barton is definitely a natural beauty. Great for a cold dip, after a hot day! White Beach is the perfect spot to relax at the end of your day. Save up some energy for the grand tour next morning! Some of the reefs are so close to the surface, you have to hold your belly in to get over them. It might the closest you’ll get to the corals, without actual scooba diving. Oh guys, sometimes I wish I could give you a taste of these moments right through your screen. Well, we’ll keep enjoying out lunch here for a bit, while saying our goodbyes. Next week we’re up for the second part of our tour, meet the lords of the sea in all sizes, find an other piece of paradise and we’re celebrating! There is way too much left to be done, don’t miss out on it! See you next week. Doeg…! - Music in the video: Song: JPB - Up & Away [NCS Release]  Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds. Russian warships arrive in the Philippines amid rising South China Sea tensions

Russian warships arrive in the Philippines amid rising South China Sea tensions Two Russian destroyers and a tanker have docked in the Philippines for a "goodwill visit" amid escalating tensions in the disputed South China Sea. The destroyers Admiral Tributs and Vinogradov -- classified as "large, anti-submarine ships" -- docked in Manila early Monday, along with the Admiral Irkut, a "large sea tanker," according to the Philippine News Agency. It is the second time this year Russian vessels have docked in the Philippines. In early January, three Russian naval ships docked in the Philippine capital for what was described as a visit to "further enhance and sustain the promotion of peace, stability and maritime cooperation." The most recent arrival comes just months before the two countries are due to sign a naval cooperation agreement, likely in July, which will reportedly involve more joint training exercises and reciprocal port visits. Russia and China have also been moving closer together in recent years, conducting joint military drills and signing economic deals, with both sides claiming relations are at their "best level in history." Monday's Russia visit also comes amid the annual Balikatan joint exercises between the Philippines and US, which finish April 12. The Balikatan drills feature more than 7,500 troops, F-35B stealth fighters and include live-fire training and amphibious operations among other events. Source: https://cnn.it/2uPaiZM

PORT BARTON, PALAWAN - Chill little backpacker beach town - Philippines Travel Vlog Ep7

11:22
Port Barton is a beautiful little beach town with the perfect mix of tourism and local life. This is much different from the other popular destinations in Palawan like Coron and El Nido. There are much fewer people and the overall vibe is way more chill. While there are not as many immense limestone cliffs in the sea like in El Nido and Coron, Port Barton still offers amazing island hopping boat tours which will be featured in my next vlog. I really enjoy how the town isn't completely dedicated to tourism. There is a school in the middle of town, so on any given weekday there will be children walking to and from class and they all seem so independent and happy. The people are friendly, the nature is beautiful, and the food is delicious. It's a great place to visit. Port Barton should definitely be on your destination list if you're traveling around the Philippines. Cavite Gateway Terminal, the first container barge port in the Philippines

00:41
Please don't forget to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell for our latest video! WATCH: DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade inspects the Cavite Gateway Terminal, the first container barge port in the Philippines, in Tanza, Cavite. The CGT, which was funded by the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), will allow trans-shipment of cargo from international ports in Manila to Cavite via barges and Roll-on Roll Off (RoRo) operations. By moving cargo and people out of the roads and into the waterways, it would decongest traffic in major roads. It has a capacity of 115,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). Projections indicate that the terminal will result in approximately 140,000 fewer truck trips annually. It is also expected to reduce road traffic by almost two kilometers of trucks once fully operational. The terminal will also be integrated with other major Luzon port facilities for a cost-effective and time-bound access to the Cavite market. The construction for the CGT started in October 2017 and was completed in about a year. On September this year, barge operations have already started as part of the dry-run prior to full operations.

The Balikatan drills feature more than 7,500 troops, F-35B stealth fighters and include live-fire training and amphibious operations among other events. While the Russian ship visit is not to that scale, Moscow's growing ties with the Philippines and presence in the region come at a time of increased tensions in the South China Sea. The Philippines government said hundreds of Chinese vessels, including some military ships, had been spotted around Thitu Island in the Spratly chain, which is controlled by Manila but claimed by Beijing. The Chinese flotilla began appearing around Thitu in December and January, about the time Manila began construction on the contested maritime feature. In a speech Thursday, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte warned Beijing to leave Thitu Island alone, threatening military action in response to any Chinese aggression. "Let us be friends, but do not touch Pagasa Island and the rest," Duterte said, according to CNN Philippines, using the Philippine word Pagasa for Thitu. "If you make moves there, that's a different story. I will tell my soldiers, 'Prepare for suicide mission'." China and the Philippines are just two of the many countries who lay claim to large portions of the South China Sea, along with Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei. In a bid to reinforce their claim on the territory, China has built and militarized artificial islands across the important shipping lane. Tensions cooled after Duterte pursued a closer economic relationship with Beijing. Manila also turned to Moscow for support, with Duterte shifting his country's previously close ties to Washington. Manila, Philippines - Bands play at the Port of Manila for the Legend of the Seas HD (2015)

06:43
Manila is the capital city of the Philippines. It is one of the sixteen cities which, along with the municipality of Pateros, make up Metro Manila, the National Capital Region, that has an overall population of around 12 million. In addition, its total urban area, referring to its continuous urban expansion into the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Batangas, has a population of 24,123,000. The city of Manila is located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay and is bordered by the cities of Navotas and Caloocan to the north; Quezon City and San Juan to the northeast; Mandaluyong to the east; Makati to the southeast, and Pasay to the south. It has a total population of 1,652,171 making it the second most populous city in the Philippines, behind Quezon City. The populace inhabit a land area of only 2,498 hectares, making Manila arguably the most densely populated city in the world. Manila (and more broadly speaking, Metro Manila) is the economic and political capital of the Philippines, home to extensive commerce and some of the most historically and culturally significant landmarks in the country, as well as the seat of the executive and judicial branches of the government. Manila was listed as a global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network in 2012. The Manila Galleon trade-route (c. 1565 to 1815), being the first instance in human-history wherein world-trade truly became global (previous world-trade routes had not yet crossed the Pacific and had not reached a global nature), made Manila a primordial foundation-stone of true globalization. Manila is the host to the Embassy of the United States in the Philippines and the Apostolic Nunciature to the Philippines. Manila has many scientific and educational institutions, numerous sport facilities, and other culturally and historically significant venues. The city is politically divided into six legislative districts and geographically into: Binondo, Ermita, Intramuros, Malate, Paco, Pandacan, Port Area, Quiapo, Sampaloc, San Andres, San Miguel, San Nicolas, Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, Santa Mesa and Tondo. These districts were towns and parishes absorbed by Manila during the 19th Century. The earliest written account of the city is the 10th-century Laguna Copperplate Inscription which describes a Malay kingdom in what is now Manila maintaining diplomatic relations with the Indianized Kingdom of Medang in modern-day Java. The city had preferential trade with Ming Dynasty China, which registered the place as "東都" (Dongdu). It then became a province of the Maharajanate of Majapahit and was called by its Sanskrit title, "षेलुरोन्ग्" (Selurong) before it was invaded by Brunei's Sultan Bolkiah and renamed "كوتا سلودونڠ" (Kota Saludong) or simply Maynilà, from the word "Maynilad", a native Tagalog term indicating the presence of Nila, a flowering mangrove plant once abundant in the area. By the 15th century, it was nominally Islamized until the Spanish Conquistadors arrived via Mexico. They renamed the area Nuevo Reino de Castilla (New Kingdom of Castille) and shortened the nickname, Maynilà to Manila and using it as the official name. Manila eventually became the center of Spanish activity in the Far East and one end of the Manila-Acapulco Galleon trade route linking Latin America and Asia. The city would eventually be given the moniker of the "Pearl of the Orient", as a result of its central location in the vital Pacific sea trade routes. Several Chinese insurrections, local revolts, a British Occupation and a Sepoy mutiny also occurred shortly thereafter. Manila also saw the rise of the Philippine Revolution which was followed by the arrival of the Americans who made contributions to the city's urban planning and development only to have most of those improvements lost in the devastation of World War II. Since then the city has been rebuilt and has rapidly grown.

Port of Iloilo Philippines, Pump boat ferry service to Guimaras Island

18:53
I am at a pump boat ferry location in Iloilo City, Philippines. For just a few pesos you can catch a "pump boat" to Guimaras Island. For those of you who would like to take your motorcycle with you, add 60p. Watch how they load your motorcycle, cargo, Tanduay Rum, and other important commodities. It is only a 15 minute trip across the Iloilo Straits to Guimaras Island. At about 1 minute into this video, you can see Styrofoam cups floating behind the jeepneys at the bulkhead. The drivers have their morning coffee and throw their cups into the river. It's such an appalling sight to see!! When will the Philippine people wake up and start taking better care of their own country????? There are usually PNP and the PCG (Philippines Coast Guard) officers at the check in gate.
