By default, the decisions we make regarding marketing mix will be as good as our understanding of the target market. If we’ve done quality research, the likelihood of coming up with a good marketing mix combination increases. Four major variables shape a company’s marketing mix. These variables are known as the Four Ps of Marketing. Focusing on: • Product • Price • Place • And Promotion This has proven to be an effective way to understand the decisions a company makes when it enters a market and competes in it. If a company understands the needs of its customers, it can create products that satisfy the clients’ expectations and contain the features they desire; it will offer these products at a price that corresponds to the target market’s willingness to spend, and it will offer them where the target market loves to shop. It will also build its brand communication in a language that speaks to the target market. Marketing Mix and the Four Ps is intuitive. Marketing managers should concentrate on these variables and tailor them regarding the target market they’ve chosen to pursue.

Now let’s examine the second popular way of promoting your goods on overseas markets – tenders, or competitive biddings. Tenders imply the format where the participants compete for contracts to supply certain products. This format is designed to take into account all interests of the customer, the supplier, the consumers and the society. From our today’s video, you will learn about the types of tenders and the international procedure regarding such tenders. So, let’s consider the classification of tenders. There’re a few types: 1. Open tender is a 1-step trading process when participants submit all the documents including the price offer. 2. Closed tender is a 2-step trading process, which includes the prequalification of participants. Also, tenders can be provided in 2 formats: 1. Competitive tender is a form of competitive trading when the participant who offers the best conditions of the contract becomes a winner. 2. Auction is a form of competitive trading process when the participant who offers the lowest price of the contract becomes a winner. The main method of international tenders is the competitive tender. It consists of 9 steps: 1. Preparation for tender. On this step organizer defines the list of goods and the quality level, tender’s timing, standards and demands to contract. Most of the importers who gets the products from China through Alibaba sell their products on these Marketplace website at a very low price. This makes it very difficult for new online sellers to sell products at a good price because they will not earn any profit from the sale. Many people also ask if you need any import export licence to get the products from China. The answer is yes, you need import export licence if you wish to bring products from China to sell in India legally. I would advise everyone of you to have import export licence if you wish to import products from China and sell in India in bulk. The import export licence or you can also call IE licence is very easily available for people who wants to do import export business. It doesn't cost much and can be easily available on a price of around 250 to 500 rupees. So it is better to have import export licence if you want to import products from China through Alibaba. Now, you need to remember these points while you are from Alibaba. These points are very critical specially for those people who are doing the business for the first time in alibaba.com. Please make a note of these points why you do a purchase from Alibaba and try to sell it in India at low price. 1) verify if the person is a manufacturer for a middleman. Avoid dealing with a middleman as you will not get a good deal from Alibaba if you are trying to deal through a middleman. 2) verify the address of the manufacturer and also called the manufacturer through your mobile phone or you can call through WhatsApp on Skype. 3) verify the address of the manufacturer in Google Maps 4) negotiate with manufacturer. 5) as the manufacturer to send a sample. 6) make it very clear with the manufacturer about the payment terms. 7) get clear information about the shipping date and the overall order processing time before you make the payment. 8) check the manufacturer of the seller ratings and reviews before doing a purchase. 9) consider looking at the response rate in Alibaba before doing a transaction with them. 10) send a quote request to the manufacturer asking them to give you the best rate for certain quantity beginning. Please make sure you follow these steps or more if you can from your side before you place an order or close a deal in Alibaba to order products in bulk. Also know that if someone tells you that they will get the product for you from China without paying any custom duty or import duty then do not believe that person very easily. It is practically not possible and legally not advised to do anything that sort. It is always better to pay custom duty and import duty whichever is applicable to make sure that you do not fall in trouble in the future.
