RUSSIA PANIC: Two Russian Navy Escorts Three NATO Warships in Black Sea on Way to Ukraine - Two Russian warships are escorting three frigates of the NATO in the Black Sea, Russian media reported Friday. The Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship and the Vasily Bykov corvette of the Russia Black Sea Fleet are monitoring the movement of the NATO vessels, TASS news agency said, quoting the National Defense Management Center. Turkish DNA agency reported earlier in the day that three frigates, Canadian Toronto, Spanish Santa Maria and Dutch Evertsen, have passed the Bosporus Strait on their way to the Black Sea. The commander of a NATO maritime group said Dutch, Spanish, Canadian, Turkish, Romanian and Bulgarian frigates entered the Black Sea on Thursday. The warships are part of the alliance’s defense cooperation exercises taking place on April 8-12. Two of the frigates are scheduled to make a port call in the Ukrainian city of Odessa on April 1. The NATO has been conducting exercises with Georgia, located on the Black Sea, From March 18 to March 29, involving 343 military and civilian personnel from 21 NATO members, Azerbaijan, Sweden and Georgia. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed "concerns about Russia's military build-up in the Black Sea region" at a press conference on Monday in Georgia's capital of Tbilisi. Stoltenberg said NATO has increased its presence in the Black Sea to address the "security challenges." Russia has just completed drills in Crimea, involving more than 1,500 paratroopers, over 300 pieces of equipment, warplanes, helicopters and large landing ships, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday. NATO and Russian military maneuvers were conducted ahead of the Ukrainian presidential election on March 31, when incumbent President Petro Poroshenko will seek a re-election. Russia issued a statement criticizing “frequent visitors” to the Black Sea in January, when the U.S. Navy-guided missile destroyer Donald Cook entered the region. The Russian Black Sea fleet began monitoring the warship at the time as well. According to international law, vessels belonging to states that do not border the Black Sea path are allowed to stay there for no more than 21 days.

NATO in the Black Sea: How will Russia Respond

04:11
NATO in the Black Sea: How will Russia Respond - NATO plans to deploy warships to the Black Sea to ensure safe passage for Ukrainian vessels through the Kerch Strait, effectively controlled by Russia. If the Kremlin allows such transit, NATO and Ukraine will doubtlessly see that as a sign of Russian weakness. The Kerch Strait, as well as the whole Crimean Peninsula, is a de-facto part of Russia, and any unauthorized passage through Russian territorial waters would be a clear violation of Russian sovereignty. NATO and Ukraine, on the other hand, never recognized the Russian annexation of Crimea, and therefore they claim they have the right to freely access the Sea of Azov through the Kerch Strait. Russia angry: Destroyer USS Ross Enters Black Sea, Fourth US Warship

10:13
Russia angry: Destroyer USS Ross Enters Black Sea, Fourth US Warship The guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG-71) entered the Black Sea over the weekend, the fourth time in 2019 a U.S. Navy ship entered the body of water. Ross is “conducting maritime security operations and enhancing regional maritime stability, combined readiness and naval capability with NATO allies and regional partners,” according to a statement released Monday by U.S. 6th Fleet. “Our allies in the Black Sea continue to play a key role in maintaining security in the European theater,” Cmdr. Dave Coles, commanding officer of Ross, said in the statement. “The crew and I look forward to enhancing our interoperability in a dynamic environment as well as experiencing the rich history and culture in this region.” The U.S. Navy’s operations in the Black Sea are consistent with international law and the Montreux Convention, according to the 6th Fleet statement. The Montreux Convention, signed in 1936, stipulates non-Black Sea nations can only send warships with displacements of less than 15,000 tons into the Black Sea and these ships can only stay for 21 days. USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) visited the Black Sea in February, the second time this year the guided-missile destroyer entered the region. In January, amphibious warship USS Fort McHenry (LSD-43) entered the Black Sea. While in the area, Fort McHenry visited the Romanian port Constanta and conducted a joint exercise with Romanian frigate Regele Ferdinand (King Ferdinand) in Romanian territorial waters. RUSSIA PANIC: US Destroyer USS Donald Cook Enters Black Sea

10:20
🔴 ⚠️ The US destroyer Donald Cook re-entered the Black Sea Tuesday to conduct exercises with Ukraine and other allies, the Navy announced Tuesday. The ship's arrival into the Black Sea, its second visit this year, comes amid escalating tensions and violence between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian navy has been drilling in anticipation of an at-sea attack by Russia, particularly near the Ukrainian port of Mariupol, where Russia seized and imprisoned 24 sailors on three Ukrainian vessels late last year. During the deployment, the Donald Cook will make a port visit to Odessa, Ukraine, Adm. James Foggo, commander of Naval Forces-Europe said. "Russian activity in the last year has become progressively more aggressive and restrictive," particularly regarding access to Mariupol, Foggo said. "They've done it on purpose. It's economic strangulation." The sailors are still imprisoned, which "irritates me to no end," Foggo said. "They are uniformed sailors." The Donald Cook will conduct "maritime security operations and enhance regional maritime stability, combined readiness and naval capability with our NATO allies and partners in the region," the Navy said. Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Ross ( DDG-71 ) has entered the Black Sea. As per the statement released by U.S. 6th Fleet, “ Ross is conducting maritime security operations and enhancing regional maritime stability, combined readiness and naval capability with NATO allies and regional partners,” Cmdr. Dave Coles, commanding officer of Ross, said in the statement, “Our allies in the Black Sea continue to play a key role in maintaining security in the European theater. The crew and I look forward to enhancing our interoperability in a dynamic environment as well as experiencing the rich history and culture in this region.” Viewers may note that according to the Montreux Convention, signed in 1936, which regulates the transit of naval warships in the Black Sea, non-Black Sea nations can only send vessels which have displacements of less than 15,000 tons and these ships can stay for a maximum of 21 days. USS Ross is well within the limit and the transit is not in violation of Montreux Convention. Russian National Defense Management Center, "The Black Sea Fleet forces are constantly monitoring the movement of the US Navy’s Ross guided-missile destroyer that entered the Black Sea on April 14, 2019" It further added “Upon entering the Black Sea, the US navy ship was placed under constant monitoring involving the Fleet’s coastal surveillance facilities. In addition, the Vasily Bykov patrol vessel and the Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship are directly monitoring the US warship’s activities," In this video, Defense Updates analyses why Russia should fear the presence of USS Ross in the Black Sea? RUSSIA PANIC: US Destroyer USS Donald Cook Enters Black Sea

10:58
RUSSIA PANIC: US Destroyer USS Donald Cook Enters Black Sea for Second Time this Year - The U.S. Navy’s guided-missile destroyer Donald Cook re-entered the Black Sea Tuesday to conduct exercises with Ukraine and other allies, the Navy announced Tuesday. The ship’s arrival in the Black Sea — its second visit this year — comes amid escalating tensions and violence between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian navy has been drilling in anticipation of an attack by sea by Russian forces, particularly near the Ukrainian port of Mariupol, where Moscow seized and imprisoned 24 sailors on three Ukrainian vessels late last year. During the deployment, the Arleigh Burke-class Donald Cook will make a visit to the Ukrainian port of Odessa, according to Adm. James Foggo, commander of Naval Forces-Europe. “Russian activity in the last year has become progressively more aggressive and restrictive,” particularly regarding access to Mariupol, Foggo said. “They’ve done it on purpose. It’s economic strangulation.” The sailors are still imprisoned, which “irritates me to no end,” Foggo said. “They are uniformed sailors.” The Donald Cook will conduct “maritime security operations and enhance regional maritime stability, combined readiness and naval capability with our NATO allies and partners in the region,” the Navy said. Tensions in Black Sea As Russian and Ukrainian Ships Clash Near Strategic Bridge

05:15
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia and Ukraine traded accusations over an incident at sea Sunday near the disputed Crimean Peninsula, increasing tensions between both countries and prompting Moscow to block passage through the Kerch Strait. Russia’s coast guard said that three Ukrainian navy ships made an unauthorized crossing through Russian territorial waters, while Ukraine alleged that one of its boats was rammed by a Russian coast guard vessel. The Kerch Strait is a narrow body of water nestled between Crimea and the Russian mainland. The incident began after the Ukrainian navy claimed a Russian coast guard vessel rammed one of its tugboats, which was traveling with two Ukrainian navy artillery boats from Odessa on the Black Sea to Mariupol in the Sea of Azov, via the Kerch Strait. “Russian coast guard vessels … carried out openly aggressive actions against Ukrainian navy ships,” the Ukrainian navy statement said. It said a Russian coast guard ship damaged the tugboat’s engine, hull, side railing and a lifeboat. The statement added that Russia had been informed in advance about the planned journey. Russia then blocked off the strait. The move comes after months of growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, which annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and has steadily worked to increase its zone of control around the peninsula. The Kerch Strait is the only passage into the Sea of Azov beyond it. The strait is crossed by the recently completed Kerch Bridge, connecting Crimea to Russia. Transit under the bridge has been blocked by a tanker ship, and dozens of cargo ships awaiting passage are stuck. Russia has not given any indication of how long it will keep the strait blocked off, but a long-term closure to civilian traffic would amount to an economic blockade of Ukrainian cities on the Azov coast. And Russia’s Black Sea Fleet greatly outmatches the Ukrainian navy. Ukrainian cities on the Sea of Azov include strategically vital centers such as Mariupol — the closest government-controlled city to Donetsk and Luhansk, the breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine controlled by Russia-backed separatists. Russia’s Federal Security Service, known as the FSB, told Russian news agencies Sunday that the Ukrainian ships held their course and violated Russian territorial waters. The FSB accused the Ukrainian navy of staging a provocation against Russia. “Their goal is clear,” an FSB statement said — “to create a conflict situation in the region.” The statement didn’t mention ramming a Ukrainian tugboat. Though a 2003 treaty designates the Kerch Strait and Sea of Azov as shared territorial waters, Russia has been asserting greater control over the passage since 2015. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Russia’s actions were a violation of the U.N. Charter and international law, and pledged to “promptly inform our partners about Russia’s aggressive actions.” “Such actions pose a threat to the security of all states in the Black Sea region,” the statement said, “and therefore require a clear response from the international community.” Dmitry Kiselyov, a commentator on the state-controlled Rossiya channel, told viewers of his Sunday evening news program that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko — encouraged by the U.S. — is looking to pick a fight with Russia in the Black Sea. The talk show host also said that the U.S. talked Poroshenko into staging a provocation against Russia as a means to disrupt the upcoming meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump at this week’s Group of 20 summit in Argentina. “What is happening now at the (Kerch) bridge threatens to turn into a very unpleasant story,” Kiselyov warned. http://bit.ly/2Bwy0hF Subscribe To The New Channel: https://www.youtube.com/POTUSTrumpKAG ✝ Please Donate Just $1 A Month. Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe Russia’s Black Sea Fleet held missile firing exercises in the Black Sea, as shown in footage released on Friday. The Tarantul-III-class corvette Ivanovets and her sister ship the R-60 took part in the drills, which involved hitting targets 30 nautical miles away with the P-270 Moskit supersonic anti-ship missile. The Moskit is a supersonic missile designed to destroy enemy warships weighing up to 20,000 tons at a range of up to 90 kilometres away. The weapon flies close to the surface of the water to avoid radar detection, using high speeds and rapid manoeuvres to avoid the target’s anti-missile defences. Russia WARNING: US playing ‘DANGEROUS’ game with war drills in Black Sea

11:23
RUSSIA has sent a stern warning to the US and Ukraine over plans to conduct military drills in the Black Sea, describing them as a “dangerous idea” The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has outlined plans to begin preparations for the joint exercises called Sea Breeze 2019, which are scheduled to be held in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. But Russian deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin has issued a stiff warning about the military drills, raising the prospect of further escalating tensions between the countries. He told reporters: “That’s a dangerous idea. Prior to that, we will study the facts. They are viewed by us as a dangerous idea.” Should the military exercises go ahead as planned, they will follow Sea Breeze drills held near Ukraine’s Odessa and Nikolaev region and in the northeastern part of the Black Sea last July. They saw more than 3,000 military servicemen, 30 warships and 25 aircraft from 19 countries, including Canada, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Swede, Turkey, Ukraine, UK and the USA. The Sea Breeze exercises are aimed at providing high-end training for participants, focusing on warfare areas including interdiction operations, air defence, anti—submarine warfare, damage control tactics, and search and rescue. Following Sea Breeze 2018, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko unveiled plans to increase the military contingent and extend the area for this month’s drills He wrote on Facebook: “Our cooperation implies the unity and readiness to protect the world and shared values together. “Net year plans are to increase the military contingent in the drills, in particular, navy forces, and extend the areas of Sea Breeze 2019. RUSSIA FEAR: Two Russian Navy Escorts Three NATO Warships in Black Sea on Way to Ukraine world war 3

10:16
RUSSIA FEAR: Two Russian Navy Escorts Three NATO Warships in Black Sea on Way to Ukraine - Two Russian warships are escorting three frigates of the NATO in the Black Sea, Russian media reported Friday. Thank you for watching. PUTIN ANGRY: Russia lashes out at NATO over ‘aggravating’ Black Sea military build up

10:55
PUTIN ANGRY : Russia lashes out at NATO over ‘aggravating’ Black Sea military build-up RUSSIA has issued an ominous threat after NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg revealed plans to beef up its military presence in the Black Sea - warning such a move had the potential to aggravate still further simmering tensions in the region. The country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko was speaking in advance of the arrival of several NATO warships which will conduct a series of naval drills in the Black Sea in the next few days. He told Russia’s state-run news agency TASS: "This is not a surprise for us; they have been saying for a while that they want to strengthen their positions in the Black Sea. We are talking about the strengthening of military and maritime forces of NATO member states, first and foremost, Romania and Bulgaria, plus non-coastal states entering the Black Sea more often. "It is our understanding that this activity aggravates the situation in the sphere of security." Sounding a conciliatory note, he added: "The Black Sea has always been the sea of cooperation, even taking into account certain conflicts. "We need to strengthen security through increasing cooperation in the spheres of energy and transport. First and foremost, this is necessary for the Black Sea states. "As for the military matters, we strictly adhere to the provisions of the Montreux Convention, which has been a key element of the security architecture in the region for dozens of years.” The Convention, which was signed in 1936 and gives Turkey control over Turkish Straits which link the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea, was “unique” because it covers maritime military matters, Mr Grushko said. He added: “Secondly, BLACKSEAFOR [the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group] continues to exist, which unites all states and is aimed at fulfilling strictly peaceful tasks, namely maritime search and rescue, as well as tasks related to new security threats.” Speaking at a press conference in Brussels yesterday, Mr Stoltenberg said the alliance was looking to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea to support Ukraine, from which Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. He added: “NATO allies have of course clearly stated that Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine are unacceptable.” Referring to recent military clashes in which a Russian warship rammed three Ukrainian vessels, and the subsequent arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors, he added: “The illegal annexation of Crimea, the continuing efforts to try to destabilise Ukraine through its efforts and presence in Donbas, and also, of course, the totally unjustified seizure of the Ukrainian ships near the Kerch Strait. "We are now looking into what more we can do, "We are looking into whether we can increase our presence in the Black Sea and in the near future, in a few days, we'll have NATO ships in the Black Sea, participating in an exercise. “So we have significantly increased our presence at sea but also in the air and on land in the Black Sea region. “All of this is also part of our support to Ukraine.” His comments came two days after he said NATO “planning for a world without the INF Treaty”, a reference to the landmark 1987 agreement signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan aimed at limiting nuclear proliferation, which the United States pulled out of last month, citing alleged Russian violations. Mr Stoltenberg, who was gearing for a meeting with defence ministers of NATO’s member states, added: “We will discuss what steps NATO should take to adapt to a world with more Russian missiles. “Any steps we take will be coordinated, measured, and defensive. “And we do not intend to deploy new ground-based nuclear missiles in Europe.” Subscribe Now : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0IlEuu4TA9wq1u60tLMqBw?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://facebook.com/USMilitaryNewsVideos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/militaryvideos_ Twitter:
