Use the Easy Draw template to sketch a fashion figure stance

00:58
Debra Laraman, designer and tutor, demonstrates how to use a template (created using the Easy Draw rulers) to sketch a fashion figure stance. The system is based on 81/2 head canon. By following the Easy Draw systematic approach to fashion drawing, anyone can overcome the difficulties of freehand drawing of fashion figures, skirts, trousers, jackets, shorts, shirts and more. Once you have mastered the Easy Draw system you should have the confidence to develop your own style further and the rulers will be a valuable aid in your future drawings and illustrations. What materials do you use for your drawings? I use Copic Ciao markers and Touch Twin Markers, Quill Multiboard white paper, 2B and HB Pentel and Faber-Castell 0.5 mechanical pencils and Faber-Castell PVC-Free Space Eraser (Cool name) and I use Uni-ball Signo white fineliner 2. Did you go to any art school or academy? No. I am taking Studio Arts in senior high school right now. It's not from that class that I learned what I know. I am learning new things from the class, but so far, not to do with fashion illustration or manga drawings. I go to a regular high school, so it doesn't specialize in art. 3. How do you draw the models? Do you use any templates? I started out by tracing models from magazines which is harder than it sounds, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. Then of course, I searched all types of videos on YouTube and some sites as well on Google, which unfortunately, I don't remember. 4. How old are you? I am now 17 years old 5. How long have you been drawing? I'm pretty sure I started drawing at 6. That's probably my oldest memory of me drawing. I got into manga drawings when I was 11 years old, I started teaching myself how to draw manga when I was 13 years old. I started developing an interest in fashion design also when I was 11, but I pursued that interest or taken it further at the age of 14. So, I would say I started drawing fashion illustration at the age of 14. 6. Where do you get your inspiration? I get my inspiration from music, photos on Instagram, fashion trends, things that I love. There are times where I am just in an Artist's Block and I feel really brain dead where I can't draw. Or I force myself to draw and it never turns out to be something I like. I am currently in an Artist's Block which has been going on since late October 2011, and I am finding ways to get out of it. I'll keep you posted on how I break through it :] 7. Do you have any links or books you can recommend? Definitely! Cheat Templates | FASHION ILLUSTRATION

Some people were born to free hand sketch, but unfortunately it wasn't so easy for me! My Grandmother taught me how to sketch at a very young age but I remember hating sketching faces and always asking her to create the faces and I would sketch the dress! Even when I got to college I still found a way to escape drawing a face and would turn in projects with blank faces until a professor at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) taught me a trick I would like to show all of you! have fun with it!

MAKE YOUR IPHONE/IPAD YOUR FASHION SKETCHBOOK: Ideas come up all the time. Registering them instantly in our inseparable mobile devices has become a habit and those who work/study/breathe fashion know that our ideas are not written but sketched! TEMPLATES: With the help of our templates, you can accomplish your fashion design in a quick and efficient way, without constant concerns about body proportions or scale. Our templates have been developed with internal guidelines that provide users a fast notion of symmetry and darts positioning. All templates are presented in a 3-way view: side, front and back. Turn the templates on and off at any moment to see the development of your ideas. Store, send or share your design in one click! PHOTO - À - TEMPLATE Would you rather draw on an image? Import a photo and use it as a template, take notes, copy traces, add information... This is the perfect tool for your coolhunting research! REAL SKETCHING EXPERIENCE: Use the Apple Pencil’s pressure and elevation sensitivity on your iPad PRO and be amazed by our many realistic brushes! FASHION DESIGN CO-CREATION Through iMessage, you can co-create with your contacts! Share with a contact a drawing you’ve started and work together on developing it. This is a great tool for fashion professionals, as well as teachers and students, to communicate and share ideas. YOUR IPAD + IPHONE = SINGLE FASHION SKETCHPAD With iCloud, you can sync your designs on all devices logged in the same Apple ID. Start drawings on your iPhone and finish them on your iPad or, if you prefer, draw only on your iPad and have your drawings with you all the time on your iPhone. OTHER BENEFITS: -Prêt-à-Template is a sketchbook with unlimited pages! -No paper waste. -The sketchbook is always on your side: you can use it while offline (online mode only for iCloud synchronization, PSD export or sharing). -Draw, redesign and change your mind as many times as you want. Make a copy of your drawing so you are able to modify it infinite times without losing the original idea. -Export the layers to continue your drawing on Photoshop. -Split your iPad's PRO screen between Prêt-à-Template and multitask with other apps. - The zoom provides an incredible experience for details (which cannot be experienced on paper). - Easy to store, send and share. SCHOOLS / FASHION COURSES AND TEACHERS: Prêt-à-Template is also a teaching tool: instead of using the blackboard to show the development of fashion designs, you can connect the iPad (via a VGA cable) on the projector of your classroom and present all the process live, showing even small details to a large number of students. RECOMMENDATIONS: -Draw using your finger or stylus (not digital). For a realistic drawing experience, use Apple Pencil on your iPad PRO.

How to Easily Sketch Fashion without Drawing Experience | The Black Stilettos

02:38
If you've ever wanted to put ideas onto paper but drawing elements always makes frustrates you, well, here's what I learned the first day of fashion design development class. Just take a tracing pad, trace a fashion figure and dress her up! :D For this particular video, I used preprinted croquis from our class handouts, however there are plenty online that can be printed for personal use. Check these out: https://nz.pinterest.com/sarahpizz3/croquis/ http://basaktinli.deviantart.com/art/Fashion-Bases-Croquis-Template-553415545 Just google, print and get designing. This video is aligned with my previous video on fashion sketches and whether they're important, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCm1QfrCjqU Hope you guys enjoyed it! __ ABOUT ME I'm Auie (Ah-whi), a name composed with the four vowels of the alphabet. I'm a mere citizen of the world, born in the Philippines, living in New Zealand. For a while, I've been searching for my purpose and this is my journey as a fashion design student in moving pictures. Shoes, fashion, coffee, jazz, flying and time travelling are few of my passions. And The Black Stilettos are my choice of weapon in staying confident in this crazy world. Digital fashion illustration with adobe Illustrator

44:31
https://patternlab.london/home/digital-fashion-illustration-adobe-illustrator In this episode, we demonstrate how to transform our hand-drawn fashion illustrations and sketches from S1. EP3 into gorgeous precision digital artworks or digital fashion illustrations, using Adobe Illustrator CC. We learn how to use layers to break down our illustrations into key components such as: the model layer; body layer, details layer and outline layer. This methodical approach allows us to quickly create fashion illustrations that can be coloured and adapted quickly and easily to suit your project. We also discuss the concept of line weight to highlight certain areas of the design and create an almost 3D feel. We also demonstrate how to add delicate details, flat colour, print and other textures using clipping masks, to really bring your designs to life. It's a comprehensive tutorial that really goes into detail when it comes to professional fashion drawing in Adobe Illustrator.
