A song like this is deeply personal. You paint your own picture based on how it pertains to your own life.
Then you see the video, and it's nothing like like the pictures in your brain.
That's when you know how music influences your soul...
You do know the song is about a paedophile?
Suddenly he laughs
Shaking his head
Creeps closer now
Closer to the foot of the bed
And softer than shadows
Quicker than flies
His arms all round me
His tongue in eyes
Be still, be calm, be quiet now
My precious little boy
Don't struggle like that
I will only love you more
But it's much too late to get away
Turn on the light
The spiderman is having me for dinner tonight
Pretty fucking creepy song - brilliant though.
I think it's interesting how some people are saying it's a sexy video/song and some commenting that someone expressed it was disturbing and how funny they think that observation was. Here's a clue as to why those who think it's sexy or that people who find it disturbing are dumb, are actually the clueless ones. The song is about a child's description of sexual abuse by an adult in their home that preys on them at night and they have no way to escape. The vision of Robbie on the ceiling watching as his tortured form writhes on the bed unable to move is what it's like to disassociate yourself from the abuse.
-- speaking as a survivor of child sexual abuse who also appreciates the depth of music and researches the background of a song rather than blathering online like an ignorant moron
I hate spiders especially in my dreams but I love this song and I love The Cure. Today marks 30 years of the Disintegration album damn I'm getting old. I wish I could go back to the 80's I would do it in a heartbeat.
This song will always over flow me with nostalgia. When I was little and my parents would play this I always thought he was talking about The-Spiderman and that shit always creeped me out. Just thinking of friendly neighborhood spiderman eating me for dinner 😂😂😂
I literally saw a huge spider in the corner of my room just a hour before watching this, its my biggest fear but i cant sleep at night with something that big and fast so i got a paper towl and wrapped it around my hand and punched it and hoping it would crawl on me, it took two punches to kill it, but now i can sleep.
I remember seeing this on "THE BOX MUSIC CHANNEL" way back in 89. Always thought it was a very strange video. I like The Cure. However I really wish YOUTUBE WOULD STOP! POSTING RELATED VIDEOS, AT THE END OF THE MUSIC VIDEO!!! BLOCKING HALF THE IMAGE!!!
2016 Workforce 100: Ranking the World’s Top Companies for HR.
American Express, which has made the list all three years, takes the top spot in this year’s list of top companies for HR.
To excel at everything from talent management to recruiting to benefits to diversity is not an easy task. To shine in those areas year after year is exemplary. Now in its third year, the Workforce 100 recognizes companies that excel in various areas of human resources during the course of the previous year. To determine which companies make the list, Workforce editors work with researchers from the Human Capital Media Advisory Group, the magazine’s research arm.
To find out which companies are the best for HR management, the research team created a statistical formula to shift through publicly available data on HR performance to separate the best from the rest. This year, to give employees more of a “say,” we’ve asked recruiting and job review website Glassdoor Inc. to provide data on what workers are saying about the companies that made our short list. From there, we combined that information with the public data available to create our 2016 Workforce 100 list.
American Express Inc. was the top company on this year’s list, and it has made the list all three years. Thirty-three other companies have also made all of the lists.
